The normal thing would be to think that people who compete in eSports must have the hardware knowledge necessary to assemble their equipment in competition. The reality is that in this type of competition everyone competes on equal terms, the PCs that the creators of the events bring together are totally symmetrical.
However, this does not mean that there is no Team Liquid PC, since thanks to an agreement with Dell, the latter provides them with equipment that they can use at their headquarters, located in the Netherlands. All equipment and its environment are located in a factory in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
So it’s a brilliant market-level move by Dell, by pairing their gaming brand with a successful eSports team, they end up creating the idea in the minds of their potential consumers that Alienware-branded pre-built PCs are the best option. However, it is better to break some myths.
Are Team Liquid branded PCs any good?
Many times we have purchased products with a famous brand and found a relationship between quality and price that is disastrous. Placing a known brand on a product is a way to generate a quality image. After all, no one is going to hurt their brand with a shoddy product, right?
Experience tells us that this is not always the case and in the case of which we speak. In the case of PC with Team Liquid brand we find that unfortunately these are the Dell Alienware. Who in recent years have experienced a series of harmful designs which make them a very poor option due to their high price for their exclusive industrial design. Which to top it off does not give a significant advantage in terms of consumption and temperature, quite the contrary.
A box should not only be beautiful, but also functional. We must not forget that in a PC gamer it is essential that temperature and consumption are well thought out in the form of a rquality cooling and power supply in both cases. These are two components that users usually ignore when buying a new computer, regardless of the consequences that come with it. One would expect that when it comes to assembling their Team Liquid-branded gaming PCs, Alienware would not only have designs that are nice to look at, but also competitive specs.
What is the alternative?
Well, neither more nor less than making a PC don Palomo, that is, you assemble it yourself taking into account cooling and power as differential points and keeping the rest of the specifications municipalities. So if you like a Team Liquid-branded Alienware PC, consider building one with the same configuration, but with separately purchased components.
Of course, the problem is accentuated if you take into account that today a pre-built PC is the cheapest way to get a graphics card. Our advice? If you can sustain your current computer, do so a little longer, because the current price increase is unsustainable for the market.
And in case you’re looking for them by design, we recommend making or borrowing a printer to 3D print the box, with the relevant changes in the design so that it fits your PC components, but that it comes as close as possible to the design of an Alienware. Of course, use ABS type as filament. This way, you’ll have a PC that looks like an Alienware, but without its associated limitations. Of course, we recommend modifying an existing tower that you know is good as a base.
