We have seen these days at Computex 2024 a wide variety of quite interesting new products that should hit the market before the end of the year. ASUS surprised everyone by exposing the ROG MjolnirAnd Portable ISC which imitates Thor’s hammer. This system has many particularities, among which the handle is a flashlight.
During the event in Taiwan, ASUS showed the power supply ROG Thor III. This is characterized by a power of 1,600 watts and has two 12V-2×6 connectors, allowing it to power two high-end graphics cards.
It completes this “range” of products based on the Norse god of thunder and strength. It makes perfect sense that your high-end power supply would be named after this name and your UPS would be named after this ancient Norse god’s hammer.
ROG Mjolnir, a very complete portable inverter
UPSs are fundamental elements of computing in the event of a power outage. Prevents loss of information in the event of any type of problem on the electrical network, at home or in the workplace. Having one of these systems saved us from wasting hours of work.
ASUS presented the ROG Mjolnir Uninterruptible Power Supply at Computex 2024. The interesting thing about this model is that it is designed to be able to carry it around very comfortably. It mainly focuses on outdoor use.
This system has two particularities. The first is an LCD screen that displays information such as the card’s capacity, the power it provides, and the estimated usage time. Additionally, Mjolnir’s hilt is a flashlight, which is extremely handy in the event of a power outage.
Internally, the Mjolnir has a LiFePO lithium iron phosphate battery that offers a capacity of up to 768 Wh. ASUS says it can deliver up to 60 hours of battery life on a 700-watt charge.
An interesting aspect is that this UPS incorporates QI 2.0 wireless charging technology. Precisely, this system is the one used to power the flashlight. Unfortunately, no data has been given on the autonomy it can offer.
ASUS emphasizes that the Mjolnir inverter is designed to be used at home or when we go camping. In addition, this system allows its combination with solar panels to increase its autonomy or recharge.
Regarding connectivity, it has four power outlets, allowing you to connect 4 systems. Additionally, it has two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports to power different portable devices. It includes a USB-B port on the front, the functionality of which is unknown. It can be used to monitor battery life or other power parameters.
This UPS has been rumored for a while and we were very excited to see it. ASUS has not given information on the launch date of this new ROG Mjolnir nor has it indicated the price. We assume that due to its capabilities and characteristics, in addition to being from the ROG range, it would not be particularly economical. Most likely, this system could cost around 800 dollars, quietly.
