MSI is one of the best-selling hardware manufacturers, partly because it tends to offer aesthetically striking products at relatively low prices. But statistically, MSI is one of the manufacturers that generates the most warranty procedures, largely due to the low quality of its products, and now we learn that at least one element of its liquid cooling MSI MEG Coreliquid E Series he has one defective pump and this causes problems for users.
The problem has been such that MSI has been forced to act (and we must say personally that MSI is a manufacturer that tends to dodge the problem when its products are problematic, at least in Europe) and offers its customers users who have located the problems, the choice between getting a replacement of the product or even a refund of their money.
The problem with MSI MEG Coreliquid E liquid cooling
The affected products are specifically the MSI MAG Coreliquid E240 with a 240mm radiator and its older brother, the MSI MAG Coreliquid E360 with a 360mm radiator, including both black and white variants. It must be said that this product line hit the market at the beginning of this year, and it seems that only until now many users are experiencing problems.
MSI Japan alerted us to the problem, which apparently concerns a defective batch of this liquid cooling. They haven’t given many details, but in the press release they sent out they state that “When some pumps operate between 1600 and 1800 rpm, the internal rotor rubs against the cavity.which not only causes an unpleasant noise, but also when two parts rub against each other, wear occurs which could lead to catastrophic pump failure.
What is a little strange is that it was MSI Japan which made the press release and not MSI in general, since this liquid cooling is sold all over the world and not just on the Asian island. This makes us think that perhaps the defective batches were only sold in Japan, since no other MSI branch has issued this press release, but the truth is that it would be quite strange if they had the such a concentrated problem, isn’t it?
The point is, if you own an MSI MAG Coreliquid E Series liquid cooling and you start to notice that the pump is making strange noises, we urge you to process your warranty immediatelylest you get one of these defective batches and the problems get worse.
Moreover, this is not the first time that MSI has had to put itself forward regarding its liquid cooling systems. Already last year the company had to recall some MAG Coreliquid R Series models with problems, and as is the case with this E Series, it finally offered customers the possibility of exchanging the device for a new or get a refund. The difference is that on this occasion, it was MSI Global which made the announcement.
