If you’ve never tried a robot vacuum or are ready to upgrade your current model, you can now get a wide range of features without spending a fortune.
There will be some compromises, but you can expect to get both vacuuming and mopping, good navigation and accurate mapping, and a self-emptying mount that will give you 30 to 90 days of hands-free cleaning, depending on the model.
In some cases, the models recommended below are slightly older robots that have dropped in price since their launch. In other cases, they are brand new, with the latest features. In all cases, we took them home and tested them ourselves.
All of the robot vacuums featured in this chart have some cleaning capabilities, but we want to make it clear that they’re much better suited to sprucing up floors than for deep cleaning. You can see robot vacuums with much more advanced cleaning capabilities in our roundup of the best robot vacuums we’ve tested.
Why trust us: Tech Advisor has been testing technology for nearly 30 years, and we specialize in buying advice. Over the years, we’ve tested dozens of robot vacuums from many major brands. Our entire in-house team and independent contributors have specialized knowledge and are trained to rigorously test devices.
Our comprehensive reviews accompanying each robot vacuum in the following table will give you all the details you need to find the right one for you. Plus, you’ll be able to see the pros and cons of each model at a glance.
1. EZVIZ RE5 Plus – 90 Days Hands-Free Cleaning
Benefits
-
Compact base
-
4000 Pa suction
-
A 4 litre dust bag should last 3 months
Disadvantages
-
No base drainage or filling
-
The mop pad requires manual washing
This is a newer model, with good navigation and powerful suction. It can distinguish between hard floors and carpets, and when it reaches a carpet, it increases the suction for a more thorough clean.
We found its mapping to be accurate and you can create maps for different floors or areas of your home and customize the cleaning.
It comes with an auto-empty station, meaning you can set a cleaning schedule and forget about it, for up to 3 months.
It also cleans, but you’ll have to fill the built-in reservoir and install the cleaning pad by hand, as well as wash the cleaning pad afterwards.

2. DreameBot D10 Plus – Excellent feature set
Benefits
-
Smart real-time tracking
-
Automatic drain
-
Voice Notifications
-
Strong suction
Disadvantages
-
Large charging station
-
App download required
-
Water cleaning only
This robot vacuum has powerful suction (4,000Pa), carpet detection, and if you have a mix of floors, thick carpets, or raised thresholds, it can handle a bit of climbing just fine.
It also has some features you won’t find on all models, like voice notifications: the D10 Plus will let you know what it’s doing as it does it.
The mapping is detailed and precise and will allow you to vacuum, mop, or simultaneously vacuum and mop individual rooms, rooms in a particular sequence, the entire area, or a specific area of a room. You can al so customize vacuuming and cleaning settings for different rooms.
You’ll get 45 days of cleaning before you need to empty the charging base, but the base is larger than most in this roundup, so you’ll need to find room for it.
3. Eufy X8 Pro – Best for Pet Owners
Benefits
-
Good price
-
Good all-rounder
-
Solid feature set
Disadvantages
-
Carpet should be avoided after cleaning
-
Mop pads must be added and removed by hand
-
Not good at spotting cables
This is an older model that’s come down in price and is a good option for pet owners, with powerful dual-turbine suction (4,000Pa) and an anti-tangle roller brush – although we suspect you’ll still have to remove some hair by hand.
We found its laser navigation to be solid, except that it had trouble spotting low objects and, although it stopped carefully before taller obstacles, it would plow into low pet bowls.
The mapping was precise: you could merge and section rooms, and set custom cleaning settings for each room, choosing the water level (when cleaning), suction power, and whether the room should be cleaned once or twice.
The self-emptying base is compact but contains a 2.5L antibacterial dust bag, which will give you up to a month and a half of cleaning before needing to be changed.
Cleaning isn’t as straightforward. You’ll need to fill the built-in tank and attach the mop, but you can then specify cleaning levels for each room. It’s worth noting that it will leave a slightly damp trail after cleaning, so you may want to specify carpeted areas as no-go zones.

4. Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8+ – High-quality mapping
Benefits
-
No need to empty every time
-
Excellent mapping and cleaning options
-
Automatic carpet detection
Disadvantages
-
The quay takes up space
-
Robot climbing is bad
-
Cleaning is gentle
This is another slightly older model that you can now get for less. As with many similar models, the tradeoff is less advanced cleaning features.
The N8+ has impressive suction, decent cleaning and a brilliant mapping system that will let you set up sophisticated cleaning schedules, with marked no-go zones.
With its automatic carpet detection, it automatically increases power when it encounters a carpet or rug, saving energy for when it’s needed.
On the downside, the N8+ isn’t the best climber and gets stuck more often than most robot vacuums we test.

5. Proscenic X1 – A versatile and solid device
Benefits
-
Precise mapping
-
Broom function
-
Effectively cleans most types of dirt
Disadvantages
-
The app is confusing and confusing
-
User experience not particularly neat
-
Must be supervised during cleaning
The Proscenic X1 vacuums, washes and has an automatic emptying station. The X1 also features carpet detection and increases the vacuum’s power when needed.
You can create and store up to five maps and set room-by-room cleaning schedules. Battery life is shorter than many models, however, at around 30 minutes.
It’s not the best climbing robot and got stuck several times during our testing.
We also found that connecting to the app was a bit buggy at times and the app offered poor translation, but the X1 comes with a remote control that you can use instead of the app if you prefer.
