There are only three days left and so far we haven’t been able to find out what the new title of the most awarded FPS franchise in history requires according to its developers. Call of Duty: Vanguard comes with a promising story and multiplayer, but we need to know if our PC is able to decently move it to be competitive.
System requirements for Call of Duty on PC: Vanguard
What’s good about the guys at Sledgehammer is that they always give out different specs depending on the resolution we intend to play at, as well as a specific setting. Additionally, there is now the option to find out what they think about the operating system and whether Windows 10 is still up to the job. So what can we expect from this game?
Operating system
Interestingly, 64-bit Windows 10 with the latest OS updates will be the least we need to play. The company leaves out the rest of the operating systems, where it does not guarantee support or performance.
As for the recommended, competitive or 4K Ultra requirements, the same will be needed Windows 10 64-bit updated or Windows 11 64-bit also updated. It seems that there will be no gain or loss in this regard by opting for one or the other.
CPU
At a minimum, one i3-4340 or one FX-6300Not bad if we take into account the quality of the game visually. Those recommended go up to a i5-2500K or one Ryzen 5 1600X, so it’s not crazy as expected either, while the competition or Ultra 4K will need a i7-8700K or Ryzen 7 1800X for the first and one i9-9900K or Ryzen 9 3900X for the second.
RAM memory
There are no surprises here, as they will be at least necessary 8 GB, Just as recommended we opt for 12 GB and in competitive or 4K Ultra it is already requested 16 GB. It doesn’t seem like a game in dire need of this section and capacity. Instead, no speed or latency is specified.
Storage room
A minimum of 36 GB for campaign, multiplayer or zombies, while for recommended, competitive and 4K Ultra we will 61 GB, a very affordable figure in these times. In addition to this, there is a setting called Hi-Rez Assets Cache which is used to pass high resolution images into the game that increase the requirements over the named ones:
- Minimum, up to the recommended limit and at 32 GB.
- 4K Ultra hasta 64 GB.
This setting can be disabled in the game settings.
Graphics cards and VRAM
Without a doubt the most controversial section of every game released by the company, where they also specify the VRAM that will be needed for each chosen setting and gameplay.
At a minimum, we will need a GTX 960 or a RX 470, The recommended goes up to a GTX 1060 or a RX580. The competitive mode and if we want to play more seriously he will ask us for a RTX 2070, RTX 3060 Ti or a RX 5700 XT, which is very surprising for the option of the AMD card.
Finally, to play at 4K Ultra, we will need a RTX 3080 or a RX 6800 XT, which definitely indicates that this Call of Duty: Vanguard is highly optimized for AMD. Regarding VRAM, the minimum required will be 2 GB, the recommended of 4GB, competitive 8 GB and 4K Ultra nothing less 10 GBSo the NVIDIA option is nearby.
Finally, the drivers that will support this title are the NVIDIA GeForce 472.12 WHQL and the AMD Adrenalin 2021 21.9.1, from there. Out of curiosity, the game will have DLSS and FSR, but as the company revealed, it will not have Ray Tracing, which is surprising considering that this is a highly anticipated title and Triple TO.
