resident Evil has made a decisive leap with its seventh opus since in its version for PlayStation added a mode that gave us the ability to play the story in PS VR that the Japanese had then. An experience that changed everything and is repeated today with Townsince Sony is preparing a new model of glasses for the beginning of 2023. Can you endure the terror of such an experience?
Horror like you’ve never seen
The latest installment in this long-running franchise came to us last May 2021. Resident Evil Village is a title in which, basically, we have to save the daughter of the protagonist who has been kidnapped by a sinister lady and for whom we will be forced to enter a mysterious city filled to the brim with witches, vampires, men wolves, evil dolls and a long, long etc. of creatures best left untouched.
Well, for a few months we have known that this eighth installment will have a version for VR glasses and that that would come when Sony’s new hardware hits stores.
However, the bad news is that users with first-gen PS4 and PS VR won’t have a choice to take advantage of this immersive mode of resident Evil we will therefore have to get our hands on the new PS5 viewer to take advantage of it. Too bad, but we imagine that Capcom will have its reasons for not having taken the plunge.
Release date confirmed
As was rumored lately, Capcom did not hesitate to propose an official date for the launch of this VR upgrade from Resident Evil Village which will take place on February 22, 2023, at the same time as PS VR 2 arrives in stores around the world. Thus, those who have already purchased the game since its launch in 2021 will not have to drop an extra euro to experience the experience from another point of view and will be able to immerse themselves in it completely for free.
Please note that while it is possible to connect early PS VRs to a PS5 (via a camera adapter cable), this virtual reality mode of Resident Evil Village can’t work on it they are therefore excluded from the compatibility register. A measure which, as we have previously indicated in the case of the PS4, is surely justified by the enormous change implied by the new hardware that Sony will put on sale in February: new orders, more sensors like tracking eyepiece and the absence of a camera for trackear head movements.
And you? Do you plan to play with Resident Evil Village in this new VR mode?
