Wade Wilson and Logan are finally part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is swallowing up more and more superheroes, as well as the multiversal monster, Alioth.
Additionally, along with Deadpool and Wolverine, the MCU has welcomed a host of other superheroes. Some may have only been seen in the pages of comics so far, but some have appeared in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men films. Major spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine below.
Saber tooth
Marvel Studios
Played by Tyler Mane
Born as Victor Creed, this vicious and psychopathic mutant is considered Wolverine’s archenemy. He is animalistic, characterized by razor-sharp claws, healing abilities, heightened senses, and exceptional strength.
Sabretooth was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist John Byrne. Claremont had intended Creed to be Wolverine’s father; however, other writers have departed from this idea, portraying the mutant as another participant in the Weapon X program.
In X-Men (2000), Sabretooth, played by Tyler Mane, was a member of Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants. However, in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), he was played by Liev Schreiber and appeared to be Logan’s half-brother and co-soldier. The creators of Deadpool and Wolverine decided to bring back the first version of the villain.
Lady Deadpool
Marvel Studios
Played by Blake Lively
Known as Wanda Wilson, she is a female version of Deadpool from Earth-3010. She possesses the regenerative healing factor, superhuman reflexes, resilience, speed, and agility. At one point, she teamed up with Wade Wilson of Earth-616 and other variants of herself. Together, they created a multiversal squad called the Deadpool Corps.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, she only makes a brief appearance and does not wear her mask, but it is well known that she is played by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds’ wife.
Dog Pool (Mary Puppins)
Marvel Studios
Played by Peggy la Pugese
In the comics, a dog named Wilson was the victim of experiments conducted by two scientists in the Earth-103173 reality. His body, abandoned in a dumpster, was found by members of a local circus. It turned out that the experiments did not kill the dog but gave him extraordinary powers, including the ability to heal himself.
As Deadpool the Daredevil Dog, Wilson performed deadly stunts for circus audiences. Found by Wade Wilson on Earth-616, the dog became a member of the Deadpool Corps.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, Dogpool is a friendly dog who steals Wade Wilson’s heart. It is unknown if she actually has superpowers.
Deadpool Kid (Cowboy Deadpool)
Marvel Studios
Played by Matthew McConaughey
In the comics, this mysterious version of Wade Wilson resided on Earth-1108 in a Wild West-like reality, and his nickname was a reference to the real-life gunslinger, the infamous Billy the Kid.
Little is known about this variant of Deadpool, other than that he is wanted for several crimes, including bank robbery, arson, and software piracy. Deadpool Kid (not to be confused with another Marvel character, Kidpool) wears a black hat and carries a revolver and wears boots with spurs.
Nice swimming pool
Played by Ryan Reynolds
This long-haired, always-smiling, and downright adorable variant of Deadpool doesn’t appear in the comics. However, this version of the antihero is pretty hilarious, even if he lacks the regenerative healing factor. Nicepool appears to be a Deadpool who found and took care of Dogpool.
Children’s swimming pool
Marvel Studios
In the comics, a child version of Deadpool lived in the Xavier Orphanage for Troubled Boys on Earth-10330, but never fit in. After little Wade escaped from the institution, he was recruited by Deadpool of Earth-616 and joined the Deadpool Corps.
Despite being just a child, Kidpool is a master of hand-to-hand combat and lightsaber wielding. He’s just as sassy and cheeky as his adult counterpart, so it’s a shame he didn’t stick around longer in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Head of the basin
Marvel Studios
The merrily flying rotten head is the strangest variation of the Mercenary with a mouth. This version of the superhero comes from Earth-2149, a reality colonized by zombies.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, Headpool is likely the zombified head of Wade Wilson, who was decapitated in the finale of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Electra Natchios
20th Century Fox
Played by Jennifer Garner
In several comic book stories, Elektra, an assassin and martial artist, is the enemy, ally, or love interest of Matt Murdock. She is a skilled warrior of Greek descent who works for an ancient ninja organization called the Hand.
In film, the superheroine played by Jennifer Garner first appeared in the 20th Century Fox film Daredevil (2003), then in a spin-off film titled Elektra. Another version of the character was introduced in the television series Daredevil and The Defenders, where Elektra was played by Élodie Yung.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, Jennifer Garner’s variation of the character teams up with Gambit, Blade, and Laura.
Gambit
Warner Bros. Pictures
Played by Channing Tatum
Remy Etienne LeBeau is a mutant who can manipulate kinetic energy. He is also skilled in martial arts, card throwing, and wielding a bo staff. He is from New Orleans, so he is fluent in Cajun English and Louisiana French.
In the live-action film X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Taylor Kitsch played Gambit. However, in Deadpool and Wolverine, it was Channing Tatum, long-time fan favorite to play the superhero, who took on the role.
Blade
New Line Cinema
Played by Wesley Snipes
Eric Brooks was a vampire hunter, but also a dhampir. During childbirth, his mother was attacked and killed by a vampire, but baby Eric was infected with specific enzymes that changed his physiology. He became immune to vampire bites and dedicated his life to ridding the world of bloodsuckers.
The iconic warrior, played by Wesley Snipes, appears in three motion pictures: Blade (1998), Blade II (2002), and Blade: Trinity (2004). The actor reprises his role as Blade in Deadpool and Wolverine, alongside Elektra, Gambit, and Laura, and finds himself in the Void.
Alioth
Marvel Studios
The storm monster first seen on screen in the television series Loki is a being that has broken free from the timestream. Alioth primarily roams the space called Limbo; however, he can appear in various realities, absorbing time travelers and devastating entire dimensions.
Johnny Storm (The Human Torch)
20th Century Fox
Played bAnd Chris Evans
Known as the Human Torch, he is one of the founders and youngest member of the Fantastic Four. Due to his mutation, he is able to absorb and control flames, as well as cause his entire body to explode into flames without harming himself.
On screen, the superhero has appeared in several films, played by different actors. The creators of Deadpool and Wolverine confused viewers and Deadpool himself by bringing back the Human Torch, played by Chris Evans, although the latter more specifically took on the role of Captain America.
Pyro
Marvel Studios
Played by Aaron Stanford
In the comics, St. John Allerdyce has the power to control fire and is a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. The character, played by Aaron Stanford, appeared in X-Men 2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. Initially a member of the Charles Xavier Institute, he later became Magneto’s backer.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, Pyro is a Void dweller and a member of Cassandra Nova’s crew.
Laura (X-23)
Marvel Studios
Played by Dafne Keen
The female clone and later adopted daughter of Wolverine first appeared in an animated television series titled X-Men: Evolution. The character was later introduced in comic books, and in 2017, X-23 made her big screen debut in Logan, where she was played by Dafne Keen.
Laura’s superpowers are similar to Wolverine’s. She possesses the regenerative healing factor, which grants her incredible speed, durability, and agility, as well as claws on her hands and feet.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, she appears in the Void and teams up with Elektra, Blade, and Gambit.
Cavillrine
Lionsgate
Played by Henry Cavill
Since leaving DC, Henry Cavill has been rumored to play various roles in the MCU, and the world finally got to see it happen… at least in a cameo. This Wolverine variant has everything Logan is known for: he’s tough, angry, smokes a cigar, and looks absolutely fabulous.
Happy Hogan
Marvel Studios
Played by Jon Favreau
In the comics, Hogan is Tony Stark’s chauffeur, bodyguard, and personal assistant. He has appeared in several MCU films, portrayed by Jon Favreau, who also directed both Iron Man films.
B-15 Fighter
Marvel Studios
Played by Wunmi Mosaku
Hunter B-15, also known as Willis, is a character in the television series Loki. She was originally a soldier working for the Time Variance Authority, but when she learned the truth about the organization, she rebelled against it.
In Deadpool and Wolverine, Willis is in charge of the TVA.
