Amazon’s October Prime Day is coming to an end, but there’s still time to score a great deal on a new phone.
One of the highlights is the Pixel 7a. Until midnight tonight you can get a great deal on Google’s mid-range phone in the UK. It’s just £299, with the necessary 30W fast charger included in the box. Compared to its starting price of £449 without charger, it’s a brilliant buy.
However, it’s worth noting that this is a Prime Day-specific deal, which means two things. The first is that it might disappear after today or when stock runs out – whichever comes first.
The second is that it is exclusive to Amazon Prime members. A subscription costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year, but there is a 30-day free trial if you haven’t signed up yet.
The deal isn’t as impressive in the US, but it’s not far off and it’s not specifically for Prime Day, so it might not expire tonight. You can get the phone for $326.28, which is still a significant saving compared to its launch price of $499.
Google’s mid-range phone could have launched in 2023, but it’s still a great choice. The first thing to note is that it’s guaranteed to get two more OS updates – Android 15 and a potential Android 16 – as well as four more years of security patches.
It’s also a great all-around phone, as our full Pixel 7a review shows. A superb camera, nifty software and solid performance are all strong points. There’s a reason it still ranks second in our mid-range phone rankings instead of the new Pixel 8a.
