Dune: plot of the second part
Dune covers the events of the first half of Frank Herbert’s novel. The film ended with Paul and Lady Jessica finding the Fremen and heading to Stilgar’s house. In the Fremen camp, Paul will have to adapt to new customs and prove his worth and strength as Muad’Dib – the Messiah of the planet Arrakis.
In Dune Part 2, we will see more of Paul’s prophetic visions, which will concern his future and the uprising against the Emperor.
In an interview with Empire, Denis Villeneuve said:
It’s like a game of chess. New characters will be introduced in part two, and a decision I made early on was that part one would be more about Paul Atreides and the Bene Gesserit, and his experience of being in contact for the first time with a different culture. …Part two, there will be a lot more Harkonnen stuff.

The official synopsis reads:
This follow-up film will explore the mythical journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of vengeance against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he strives to prevent a terrible future that only he can foresee.
