Dune: Part Two grossed $81.5 million in its opening weekend in the United States, nearly tying the record set in October by Taylor Swift’s concert film The Eras Tour. The film grossed $97 million internationally, and up to $178 million over the weekend.
Audiences rushed to the cinema, and it’s no surprise: shot in IMAX, Dune: Part II is electrifying. Magnificent desert shots, extraordinary costumes and fascinating set design are at their best on the big screen.
However, many viewers enchanted by the visual splendor of Dune will likely want to watch it again at home, if only to follow their favorite scenes closely.
Here’s everything we know about the home release of Dune: Part Two. If you’re interested in learning more about the film, read our Dune: Part Two roundup and watch the trailer below.
When could Dune: Part Two be released on VOD?
The second part of the science fiction epic was released on March 1, 2024 and, for now, can only be seen in cinemas.
As of this writing, it has not been announced when Dune: Part Two might be available to rent or purchase. Warner Bros. films are typically released on VOD approximately six to eight weeks after their theatrical release, but this time frame may vary depending on the film’s performance in theaters.
If this follows the usual pattern, then Dune: Part 2 could benefit from a digital release in early May.
When could Dune: Part Two be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
The exact release date for the DVD and Blu-ray hasn’t been set either, but we have some good news for you. If waiting for the film to be released at home is tiring for you, you can already pre-order a physical copy of Dune: Part Two.
On the Amazon website or on the Walmart online store, you can reserve a Blu-Ray or DVD copy. The real treat though is the limited edition 4K Steelbook.
If the VOD version comes out in May, then physical copies of the film could also be released in May/June.

When could Dune: Part 2 be released for streaming?
Due to the pandemic, the first Dune movie appeared on Max almost the same time as in theaters. Of course, this situation will not happen again. We’ll have to wait a little longer for the release of Dune: Part Two – it will likely appear on the streaming service after its release on DVD and Blu-ray.
Barbie, which was also a smash hit for Warner Bros., appeared on streaming more than 5 months after its theatrical release. On the other hand, Aquaman 2, which did rather well at the box office, was released on Max only 2 months after its premiere. Warner Bros. considers each film as a separate case and, for this reason, it is quite difficult to predict when Dune: Part 2 might be released for streaming.
However, David Zaslav, the boss of Warner Bros. Discovery, recently gave a hint on this subject. During Warner’s latest earnings conference call, the CEO said streaming Dune: Part 2 could debut as soon as spring 2024.
In the meantime, why not catch up (or rewatch) the first Dune movie? In the United States, it is currently available on Max. However, in the UK you can stream it on Netflix.
