The Dyson Airwrap has become a legend in the world of at-home hair styling. It’s arguably the most stylish and premium hair styling kit you can buy.
You can read our review of the original Airwrap, as well as Shark’s competing but more budget-friendly FlexStyle, and see how they compare in our comparison review of the two multi-stylers.
But now there’s a new Airwrap in town. Read on to find out all the details.
What is Airwrap ID?
The Airwrap ID is the new version of Dyson’s Airwrap. Like the original, it’s powered by Dyson’s V9 motor and uses hot air to curl, wave or straighten your hair, always keeping the temperature below 150°C/300°F to avoid damage.
But the Airwrap ID is also a Bluetooth enabled device, so you can program your hair profile in the MyDyson app and get personalised settings for curling your hair.
It comes with a range of new attachments, bringing the total number of possible styling accessories to 16. You won’t get them all in one set, though: you can choose between a straight and wavy or curly and coily kit, and receive six attachments to suit your hair type.
It will be available in two colors: ceramic patina and topaz, and vinca blue and topaz.
When will the Airwrap ID be available for purchase?
At this point, Dyson has not yet announced a specific release date. All we know is that it will be available soon.
You can sign up to the Dyson newsletter in the UK or US to be the first to know when it’s available.
How much will the Airwrap ID cost?
In the UK, the price will be £499.99. Dyson hasn’t confirmed the US price to us, but we expect it to be $599.99.
Where can you buy the Airwrap ID?
You will be able to buy it online from Dyson in the UK and US, as well as at Dyson demonstration stores.

Connected features
Dyson’s key smart feature is what it calls id curl. In the MyDyson app, you enter your hair type, length and styling skill level, and the app recommends a curling routine for you.
Accept it and when you press the power button, the Airwrap ID will automatically wrap, style and set hair, adapting heat and airflow to the user’s needs.
Interview
The app will also help you keep your Airwrap ID in tip-top shape by alerting you when it’s time to clean the filter (although a flashing light on the styler itself will provide the same information) and providing cleaning tips.
We’ll update this article as soon as we have more information, and we’ll test the Airwrap ID as soon as we can. In the meantime, check out our picks for the best hair straighteners and hair dryers for our top hair care tech recommendations.
