From April 28 to May 21, Epic Games periodically requires two-factor authentication before seeking free games in the Epic Games store. They are making this change in an effort to encourage users to take action strengthen the security of your Epic account.
What is two-factor authentication and how it works
Double-Factor Authentication (A2F) is a voluntary sign-in feature that provides extra security for your account. If you decide to use A2F, each time you sign in with your password you will receive a unique security code, which will be valid for a short period of time.
- The security code will be sent to you by means of the verification you selected in your account settings.
- Currently, A2F security codes can be accessed through the authentication system, your Epic Games account email address or the SMS message on your mobile device.
- You can have no trouble validating a single item (A2F).
When you sign in, you will be required to enter the two-factor authentication code (A2F) of your choice (email, request or SMS). After entering the code, you will be logged into your account.
You will be asked for an A2F security code in the following cases:
- It's time to start logging in after using the feature.
- When you sign in with a new device.
- Within 30 days of your last sign-in.
- If you have recently removed cookies from your browser.
NOTE: The email address associated with your Epic Games account must be verified before you can activate this feature.

- Go to page ACCOUNT.
- Click on the tab TIP & PROTECTION.
- Under the TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION heading, click the A2F option you want to activate: Enable APP Authorization, Enable SMS AUTHENTICATION either BASIS FOR EMAIL.
