After a wild season 2 finale, we are all impatiently awaiting the new episodes of Euphoria. Unfortunately, as much as we would like, Sam Levinson’s series will not return anytime soon.
However, the first information about the third season of the series is starting to emerge. There will likely be more in the coming months because, as rumor has it, the crew will start filming the new episodes soon.
Here’s everything you need to know about the next installment of one of HBO’s most controversial shows.
Euphoria Season 3 Release Date
HBO announced that Euphoria would return to Max in 2025.
According to Sydney Sweeney, filming for season 3 of the series is expected to begin in 2024. In an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, the actress reveals that she will soon be working on new episodes of the series.
Euphoria Season 3 Plot
Spoilers for Euphoria season 2 below.
The second season of Euphoria was full of drama and ended on a typical sour note.
Cassie and Nate’s romance led to a tumultuous end to the girl’s friendship with Maddy. Nate himself reported his father, Cal, to the police, who was arrested for possession of juvenile explicit material.
The highlight of the season was a school play prepared by Lexi, inspired by her life and those of her classmates. However, this hilarious performance had unforeseen consequences. A furious Nate broke up with Cassie, who then stormed on stage and was attacked by a vengeful Maddy.
Unfortunately, Fez, who became friends with Lexi during the season, was unable to attend the show. Just before leaving, the dealer and his brother Ashtray got into a shootout with the police. As a result, Fez was injured and Ash was killed.
The only positive element of the end of the season was Rue’s reconciliation with Jules and Elliot after her dramatic drug crisis.
If you’re hoping to find out in Season 3 what happened right after the messy school play, you might be surprised. According to costume designer Heidi Bivens, there will be a time jump between seasons up to 5 years in the future. This means that the next time we see Rue and her classmates, they will be young adults.
When asked about season 3, Sam Levinson revealed to Elle that he wanted to use the conventions of film noir to “tell Rue’s story, which explores what it means to be a principled individual in a corrupt world.”
Euphoria season 3 cast
In the next part of the series, we can expect the return of the following actors:

Unfortunately, in Euphoria, season 3 will not return Angus Cloud who played fan favorite Fezco. In July 2023, the actor died from a drug overdose. We do not yet know how the creators of the series will explain the absence of Fez for the coming season.
In the new episodes we probably won’t see him Javon Walton as an ashtray. Fez’s weird brother was most likely killed in the Scarface-like shootout with the police.
In 2022, Barbie Ferreirawho played Kat Hernandez, announced that she was leaving the series.
