On February 29, 2024, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launched exclusively on PlayStation 5, but if you are fans of the franchise, you probably already knew that it was announced that the exclusivity would last for around 8 or 9 months. And in the end, they kept their promises, because Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was announced on PC on January 23, 2025, the date on which we will all be able to play it on our beloved PCs (Master Race or not, we'll tell you ). far).
Minimum and recommended requirements for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
It was Square Enix itself which announced the minimum and recommended configuration for playing on PC, on PC which will also be available via Steam and Epic Games. So, instead of making the typical table by hand as we always do, we give you the image that the developer himself published, since it is quite complete and also indicates the approximate graphic levels.
The minimum level requirement aims to play at Full HD resolution and 30 FPS, with low graphics settings. To do this we would need a fairly basic processor, but 16GB of RAM and a mid-range Radeon RX 6600 / GeForce RTX 2060 would be necessary. Overall, we consider that 1080p at 30 FPS and with everything at minimum does not really allow us to enjoy the game.
As for the recommended requirements, they are designed to play at a resolution of 1080p and 60 FPS, already with average graphics, which would allow us to start enjoying the game properly. For this you need Windows 11 (note carefully, the minimum says Windows 10) and a mid-range Intel or AMD processor, but not much either. The 16 GB of RAM remains, and the graphics card goes up to an RX 6700 / RTX 2070, which still remains in the mid-range. Not so bad, really.
From now on, to enjoy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in all its splendor in 4K resolution and with settings on High, Square Enix recommends a processor that still remains mid-range, or even medium-high, while retaining the 16 GB of RAM (here ). we are not surprised that it does not require 32 GB, after all it is a linear game and does not need to load huge maps in memory) but already raising the graphics card requirement to the high end : an RX 7900 XTX or an RTX 4080.
And what about portable consoles?
The developer has given some interesting hints in this regard, and it is something very welcome considering the current popularity of handheld consoles. For starters, they confirmed that if you use a PS5 DualSense controller on PC, you will get the same experience as on console. They also said it would be possible to play with a keyboard and mouse, but either way any controller will work and all controls can be reassigned without issue. It's really great.
As for portable consoles, they specified that they planned to be at least compatible with Steam Deck. In any case, since Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available for the Windows operating system and is compatible with any type of controller, this means that there should be no problem running it on the main portable consoles, like the ASUS ROG Ally or the Lenovo Legion Go. Of course, the graphics level and performance that can be expected is another story.
