bad news from japan
The fact is that this timeThe news that comes to us from Square-Enix is not the best if you are a to fish that it all plays out on your PC since, as we feared, the Japanese won’t try too hard to reach stores beyond PlayStation consoles (or so it seems). Remember that the relationship with Sony is not new and that these exclusive titles for their machines have been our daily bread for 29 years.
Ha sido Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy XVIthe one who verbalized this bad news during the broadcast of a flux organized a few days ago around a New Year’s Mahjong tournament, and in which took advantage of the relaxed atmosphere to remind us that there are no plans that a PC version is even planned or that it will be released after an initial release on PlayStation 5.
“There have been discussions,” Yoshida said, “that The PC version will be released [de FF XVI]but no-one [del equipo] didn’t say anything about this release. I wonder why people assume the PC version will arrive six months later? [de la de PS5]So go ahead and buy yourself a PS5.”
Made-up news, isn’t it?
Naoki “Yoshi-P”‘s denial Yoshida doesn’t think it’s happening because that morning he recalled some media speculating that the game might eventually come to PC, but because there have been many proofs which have given to think to the community that something like this has been considered in the roadmap video game
And it is that during the flux of one of showcases Official PlayStation 2020, a first trailer of Final Fantasy XVI in which, at the end, the phrase “also available for PC” appeared. Mention that it disappeared when this same video was posted by Square-Enix on its official channels. I mean, when were they telling the truth? With the first of the revelations or by hiding it? Although it was only last year that in the official material it was also possible to read (fleetingly) that the game would be an exclusive for six months.
At any rate, everything smells good a marketing move that tries not to subtract sales to the game on PlayStation 5 which, it is clear, will be the first and only to arrive. Although once six or twelve months have passed, the possibility of us having a Final Fantasy XVI on PC it can be reborn to become a reality. After all, despite the deals Square-Enix has with Sony, it’s become clear that the Japanese are being seduced into reaching PC territory and putting honey on the lips of Xbox owners, who will continue to dream of having a RPG like this on their consoles.
