Fractal Design offers a “PC case” for the Raspberry Pi

case, design, Fractal, offers, Raspberry

The Raspberry Pi is an SBC (Single Board Computer) well known for its large capacities, compact design and affordable price. There is a huge community today and we have seen some incredible designs based on this little board.

Boxes for installing this small plate have become popular on the Internet. They come in different designs and capacities, some include space for an M.2 SSD. But let’s face it, none are as elegant as what Fractal Design showed off at Computex 2024.

Fractal surprises with a case for the Raspberry Pi

Manufacturer Fractal Design is known in the industry for offering PC cases with exquisite designs. These are not chassis for all users, they are already characterized by being Premium and have quite high prices.

At the Taiwan event, he presented the smallest version of the Fractal Design North to date. This frame is completely recognizable, above all, by its wooden slatted facade which gives it a very elegant appearance. The most compact version, very similar to its big sister, is designed to accommodate a Raspberry Pi.

It remains, in design, very similar to the version intended to host gaming-focused systems. It combines wood, metal and tempered glass to house a Raspberry. It is something very striking and, as expected, has not gone unnoticed during this technology fair that is ending.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a case for the Pi that’s similar in design to a gaming PC tower. The models we’ve seen generally adopt a more statement-making aesthetic, including RGB lighting. Also, some models aim to imitate mini PC cases, but in this case, an elegant design has been chosen.

Factal currently offers the Nord and Nord XL boxes, where the materials predominate with a sober and very elegant design. The version for Raspberry maintains the aesthetics and design, with wooden bars on the front, methacrylate sides and a grid-type rear panel with large holes for good air circulation. Some small licenses have been taken to adapt the design, but for the most part they are virtually the same.

This case would even have room to install two 40mm fans and thus improve the cooling of the SBC. The truth is that in the images we have seen they are not shown, you just see the card with the standard configuration.

Fractal Design states that they have no plans to mass produce this chassis. Maybe they just wanted a hook to gain visibility, which they clearly achieved. The truth is that we hope they will eventually change their minds, because it’s so pretty that we would want it even without the Raspberry to decorate our desk.
