Something that has always bothered us, PC users, is cable management. Many of us have not understood the need to have the motherboard connectors on the front, especially with modern cases that have large spaces for cabling.
The one who started this “revolution” of hiding connectors is ASUS, which always tends to be ahead of its competitors. Given the good reception, other “mobo” manufacturers have imitated this design, creating their own alternatives.
Gigabyte already has a motherboard without front connectors
The first thing that Gigabyte highlights in this new solution is not the connectors, but its catalog. The brand emphasizes that it currently offers a catalog of 60 different models based on the B650 chipset and up to 81 motherboards with the AM5 socket. They want to highlight, beyond the connectors, the variety of solutions they offer.
This new Gigabyte B650E AORUS Stealth Ice is characterized by the B650E chipset and, above all, by being a high-end model. It stands out at first glance for its all-white character and its high dose of RGB lighting. But the most interesting thing is that it has reversed connectors, come on, which are located on the back.
The manufacturer emphasizes that this is “the world’s first white motherboard with a reverse connector.” It is true that all those seen so far have been black models. The brand therefore wants to position itself first in a market that is still little exploited.
As you know, this type of reverse motherboards carry the power, data and operating connectors at the back. We only have the CPU socket, DIM slots and PCIe slots at the front. We have a much sleeker front design and cable management is dramatically improved.
Regarding the rest of the features, it has a VRM digital phase system with a 12+2+2 configuration. What is very interesting is that it has a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, which is also the only full-size port on the card. On the other hand, it supports DDR5-8000 RAM and is compatible with Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles.
It features two Ultra Durable M.2 slots under a huge frame to install high-performance M.2 SSDs. One of the special features is that its installation is tool-free, it uses the EZ-Latch Click mechanism for heat sinks and EZ-Latch Plus to hold the units.
The new Wi-Fi EZ-Plug has also been provided, which is a new AORUS connector for network antennas and offers compatibility with Wi-Fi 7. A set of screwless solutions to facilitate the installation and maintenance process.
Gigabyte has not set a release date or price for the B650E AORUS Stealth Ice motherboard. Everything suggests that it will be available on the same day as the new AMD Ryzen 9000. As for the price, it does not seem crazy to us that it could be around 400-500 dollars due to its design and features.
