The Amazon Prime Video series Good Omens – based on the fantasy book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett – returns for a second series this year.
Good Omens covered the original book in its entirety, so this series will be entering uncharted territory for fans. However, the reception of the first series and the impeccable performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant undoubtedly helped push Amazon to push for another season.
Here’s everything we know about Season 2 of Good Omens. We also have similar roundups for The Witcher and the Amazon-led Lord of the Rings series.

Is there a trailer for season 2 of Good Omens?
Unfortunately, no Good Omens season 2 trailer is available. However, a summer release could mean one is on the cards over the next few weeks – watch this space.
Good Omens Season 2 Plot
While a book was never officially released, Gaiman and Pratchett plotted the Good Omens sequel over the phone after a fantasy convention. Other books and projects kept it from coming to fruition, but Neil had this story in mind while filming the first season.
According to Gaiman, season 2 “will solve a mystery that begins with one of the angels wandering through a street market in Soho, not remembering who they might be, en route to Aziraphale’s bookstore.”
Therefore, we’ll likely explore a big plot point related to Heaven and Angels – with Crowley and Aziraphale leading the investigation.
While we’ll be back in Soho, the writer also revealed that sets are starting to be built in Scotland. We don’t know why or where – but it’s definitely a change of scenery for the show.
Neil Gaiman called the upcoming season “pretty quiet, sweet and romantic” at the NYCC, and before that, he talked about how he wrote Aziraphale and Crowley’s relationship beats as a love story.
This could imply that we could see a relationship blossom between the angel and the demon, which isn’t surprising given the online fandom’s reaction to the couple’s chemistry.
Additionally, a never-before-seen clip shown at NYCC showed a new character called Muriel, who is an angel sent to check on Aziraphale. The angel now appears to be living with Crowley, who brings her plants home in the footage.
How to watch Good Omens season 2
Good Omens is a co-production between Amazon and BBC Studios. Globally, all episodes are likely to hit Amazon Prime Video first.
However, UK viewers will get a syndicated broadcast from the BBC soon after, as that is what happened with the first season. BBC channels are free to everyone in the UK, and if you don’t have a TV you can watch on BBC iPlayer if you have a valid TV licence.
Amazon Prime Video costs either £5.99/$8.99 a month for the streaming service or £8.99/$14.99 for a full Prime membership, which offers free next day delivery and access to sales flash such as Prime Day.
You can sign up for a 30-day free trial on Amazon’s website.
Will there be a third season of Good Omens?
Maybe – Neil Gaiman responded to a fan on Twitter by hinting that his and Terry’s original vision for a book sequel wouldn’t be fully explored in Season 2. Thus, there would have to be one another to cover that.
Of course, it all depends on whether it is renewed by Amazon.
