Like many other subscriptions and bills this year, Sky has confirmed that the prices of its subscription packages are increasing.
This change affects the three main Sky TV subscriptions: Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream. If you’re looking to save money this year, there’s a way to avoid this price hike. Here’s what you need to know.
How much is Sky TV increasing?
Sky has confirmed that the increase in broadband and TV prices will be a further 6.7%. In terms of increased cash flow, this is what it looks like.
If you are a Sky Stream or Sky Glass customer, here is the increase in channels and subscriptions:
- Sky Entertainment: up to £2 per month
- Sky Kids: up to £1 per month
- Sky Cinema: up to £3 per month
- Sky Sports: up to £3 per month
There are no changes for TNT Sports on the Stream and Glass packages. If you have a Sky Q decoder, here’s how much extra you’ll pay:
- Sky Entertainment: up to £2.50 per month
- Sky Kids: up to £1 per month
- Sky Cinema: up £1 per month
- Sky Sports: up to £1 per month
- TNT Sports: up to £2 per month
On top of that, Sky’s Whole Home plan (which lets you watch Sky in other rooms via a Puck) also gets a £1 monthly increase.
The cost of your overall monthly subscription will depend on your hardware and what is included in your plan. For example, an 18-month contract on Sky Stream will increase from £26 per month to £28 per month, while a rolling monthly contract on Stream will increase from £29 per month to £31 per month.
The actual price of the hardware, like the TV itself, does not change.

Avoid the Sky price hike by signing a long-term contract
We’ve had confirmation that if you sign up for a long-term contract before the cost increases, Sky will honor that price. This means you won’t have to pay higher fees until end of summer 2025.
Sky prices will increase April 1, 2024, so make sure to sign up before the end of this month. If you sign up to Sky Stream now, you can get the first month for free.
If you are mid-contract and cannot renew at the old price, there is no other way to avoid the price increase short of canceling completely. You can also opt for the flexible monthly streaming service, Now, or try contacting Sky to see if you can renegotiate or downgrade your plan.
