You can also choose the design of the clock and even add widget in the style of Apple Watch on the lock screen that will allow you to receive various information at a glance without having to unlock the iPhone.

How to Customize Lock Screen in iOS 16
1. Access the lock screen customization menu
Customizing the lock screen in iOS 16 works much like editing an Apple Watch face, so you shouldn’t have much difficulty if you’re already familiar with it. smart watch from Apple.
The first step is to make sure the iPhone is unlocked, either by Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode. Once unlocked, long press on the lock screen until you can access the menu that allows you to change lock screen.

Photos and photo shuffle is very similar to the “People” layout, except it also includes images of landscapes, textures, and other interesting shots from your photo gallery that Apple’s built-in AI says would make a good wallpaper for your lock.
‘Photos’ displays images in a vertical format, while ‘Photo Shuffle’ displays images from different categories, such as ‘People’, ‘Pets’ and ‘Nature’. You have the option to manually select up to 20 images if you prefer to have a more personalized experience.
It will automatically change the image at a set interval whether on touch, wake up, hourly or daily, giving you an ever-changing lock screen experience.
emoji lets you create an emoji-inspired lock screen wallpaper using up to six of your favorite emoticons, with five different designs that offer a unique look. You can also change the background color of the emoticon.
Time It is a very attractive lock screen because its appearance totally depends on the weather in your area. Just like the weather app itself, on the lock screen there will be sunshine, clouds, rain or thunder depending on the current weather, with fun animations.
The only problem? There are no customization options other than adding widget.
Astronomy it is similar to “Weather” in that it updates automatically throughout the day based on time and location, except it is placed in space. There are several options to choose from, with different views of Earth, the Moon, and even the entire solar system.
Like ‘Time’, customization is somewhat limited, as you will only be able to add widget. However, there is no doubt that it will be a very popular option among space fans.
Color offers a more simplistic approach, letting you select a single color for the background, but with a gradient to make the color pop. You can select one of the predefined colors or choose your own. Swipe left and right to see different gradient options.
collections are a set of Apple-designed wallpapers that you can use on your lock screen, each with its own unique design, animation, and layout. We expect these to be updated, as will the Apple Watch faces in the Watch app.
3. Add Widgets
Once you’ve selected the wallpaper you want, it’s time to add widget. Although not mandatory, widget are an important part of this redesigned experience, as they can provide at-a-glance information about your favorite apps without you having to unlock your phone.
There are two windows widget: one just above the hour and one just below. While the former is quite limited (it can only display the date, calendar events, your fitness, reminders, stocks, or weather), the space under the clock displays up to four widget small or two widget large.
You just have to touch the square of the widget to see them widget available from Apple or third-party apps. Anything you want to add to your lock screen. You can long press to rearrange the icon layout. To remove them, tap the small icon in the upper left corner of each widget.
Advice: If you add widget on a lock screen with a “Photos” or “Photo Shuffle” layout, the depth effect where the subject appears before the time will be disabled. If you want to keep this effect, you can only change widget which is above the clock.
4. Customize the clock
In addition to adding widget to your lock screen you can customize the font and color of the clock. Just click the time to enter the editing interface.
From there, you can choose from one of six different fonts, as well as different colors. By default, the clock color will dynamically match the wallpaper color for a fancy effect, but you can opt for a specific color if you wish.
Once you have chosen the combination that suits you best, simply press the ‘x’ icon to exit the editor.
5. Select a wallpaper for the home screen
Once you’re happy with the look and layout of your lock screen, tap “OK” in the top right to save your changes. As part of the process, you will need to select a wallpaper for the home screen.
By default, the same wallpaper will be displayed as on the lock screen. If you want, just set it as a pair of wallpapers. You can also set the splash screen separately.
You’ll be able to choose whether you want to use a solid color, a gradient, or a completely different wallpaper. Once you’re happy with the look, tap “OK” to save your changes.
6. Assign a Lock Screen to a Focus Mode
Every lock screen you create in iOS 16 can be tied to a specific Focus mode.
This will activate the associated mode each time the lock screen is selected, or automatically display the lock screen each time the associated mode is activated. This is ideal if you want a specific design for work or a distraction-free lock screen for your free time.
To do this, just enter the lock screen interface by long pressing on the lock screen and find the lock screen you want to bind to a mode. From there, tap the Focus icon to select the mode you want associated with this lock screen.
Once paired, the lock screen will show an icon near the bottom of the panel so you know which focus mode it’s connected to.
7. Remove a lock screen
If you want to remove a lock screen from your collection, swipe up on the lock screen in question from the lock screen interface.
You will see a trash icon appear. Simply tap on this icon and confirm your choice to remove the lock screen.
