In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s easy to forget your own phone number, especially if you’ve recently upgraded devices or changed carriers.
Whether you’re an iPhone user or an Android enthusiast, we’ve got you covered.
With the simple methods below, you will be able to find out your phone number on different phones and networks.
How to find your own phone number
One of the quickest ways to find out your phone number is to call another phone that you can access. As long as you haven’t chosen to hide your number, it will show up on the other phone’s screen as an incoming call.
If the other phone already has your details saved as a contact, your name may appear instead, but a quick visit to the Contacts app and a search for your name should bring up all of your contact information, including your number.

If you don’t have another phone handy, send a text message to a friend and ask them to tell you what number you’re using. However, if you can’t text for help, use the methods below.
How to Find Out What Your Phone Number Is on an iPhone
For iPhone users, verifying your phone number is a snap:
- Open the “Phone” app and tap “Contacts” at the bottom.
- Your card will be at the top of the list.
- Tap on it and you will see your own phone number.
You can also go to your iPhone’s “Settings” app, scroll down and tap “Phone”. Look for the “My Number” field. Your phone number should be displayed here.

Keep in mind that these steps apply to iPhones running iOS 17. They may vary slightly if you’re using an older version of the system.
How to Find Your Phone Number on an Android Phone
If you are an Android phone user, here is how you can find out your phone number:
- Open the “Contacts” app on your phone.
- Your number will be listed at the top.
- If you haven’t set up a contact for yourself, you may see “Set up my profile”, which you should do anyway.
You can also find your number in the Settings app, but it’s not always listed. Look for the About phone or About device menu, then look for Status or Phone status. In this menu, you should see My phone number or Phone number.

How to get your phone number by call or text
If you’re in a difficult situation and can’t access your phone’s settings, some carriers will help you recover your number by calling or texting. Here’s how to do it for the major UK and US networks:
British networks
- EE: Contact EE customer service or text “Number” to 150.
- O2: Contact O2 customer service or text “Number” to 2020.
- Vodafone: Dial *#100# and your number will be displayed on the screen.
- Three: Log in to My3, then select Top Up to see your number.
If you are using a so-called “piggyback” operator, the process should be the same as the main network used by that operator.
American networks
- AT&T: Dial *#62# and your number will be displayed on the screen. You can also call AT&T customer service for assistance.
- Verizon: Call Verizon customer service for assistance.
- T-Mobile: Dial #NUM# (#686#) and your number will be displayed. You can also call T-Mobile customer service.
Keep in mind that these methods may vary slightly depending on your device model and carrier. If you encounter any issues, feel free to contact your network operator for assistance.
