If you’ve made it this far, it will be because at one point or another you will have to share the same WhatsApp account on two different devices. As you surely know, technically this is not possible and there is no official way to do it.
In fact, on WhatsApp’s Frequently Asked Questions page, it says, “There is no option to have a WhatsApp account with two phone numbers.” There is no point in knowing what to do if you want to use it on one mobile without deactivating it on another.
However, thanks to WhatsApp Web, there is a way to do it. It’s not perfect (you can’t use the app on both phones), but it will allow you to access the same account on different devices.
Here is what you need to do:
- Open the browser on your second mobile and go to WhatsApp Web.
- Go to “ Settings ” (the three dots in the upper right corner) and switch to the Desktop view, which should take you to a page with a QR code.
In case of being redirected to the main WhatsApp page, click on ‘WhatsApp Web’ at the top left.
- Now open the WhatsApp app on your first phone and go to “ Settings ” followed by “ WhatsApp Web ” and click on “ Pair device ”.
- Scan the QR code from your second mobile.
You should now be able to use WhatsApp on both mobiles.
