In recent years, EA has skipped E3 to host its own EA Play Live event on the same dates and in Los Angeles. Last year, EA Play Live was online for obvious reasons, and this year will be no different.
Well there are a few differences. While EA Play Live typically takes place in the same week as E3, this year it only takes place at the end of June, more than a month after E3 2021, which was also exclusively virtual.
But on top of that, this year EA is also hosting several small live shows ahead of the main event, the first of which takes place this Thursday, July 8th.
Celebrating it a month later will surely have given EA enough time to prepare some big announcements, like the Battlefield 2042. We explain when it takes place, how to follow the event live and what to expect.
When is EA Play Live 2021?
EA Play Live is coming soon Thursday July 22, and will begin at 10:00 a.m. (Los Angeles time). This means that it will start at 19:00 in Europe; 12 noon in Mexico; 1:00 p.m. in Chile; and 2:00 p.m. in Argentina.
According to EA, they will start with a first part In short, although it seems more like they want you to log in before the event starts to make sure you don’t miss any ads.
EA has also confirmed that the event will be hosted by Austin Creed, the WWE wrestler you may know by his professional name: Xavier Woods. Also, we know that the event should last around 40 minutes.
Ahead of the official Play Live event, EA is hosting four more events in what it calls EA Play Live Spotlight.

How to follow EA Play Live live
Most likely, all of the EA Play events are streamed on both the YouTube and EA Twitch channels, and like we did with the first of them, you’ll also find the live one here so you don’t miss any announcements.
What will EA announce during EA Play?
EA has many major franchises, so you might surprise us with announcements or previews during EA Play. This makes it difficult to predict exactly what it will show, but there are some safe bets out there.
The company has already confirmed that it will present news from Battlefield 2042, in addition to Apex Legends. We would also like to see the first Game of the title indie Lost at random.
The advances of FIFA 22 Yes crazy 22, and they could even take the opportunity to present Need of speed, which EA has already confirmed to be working on.
It might be a bit early to see footage from the long-awaited sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but the company could choose to display a logo or something similar.
Finally, there are two video games that we know we won’t see: Dragon Age 4 Yes Mass effect 5. Developer BioWare has already confirmed this in a tweet:
We are working hard to create the next @dragonage and @mass Effect games and have exciting stuff coming up @SWTOR this year. While we won’t be showing anything at EA Play Live, be sure to check out our SWTOR live stream at 12:00 PM PT today for tidbits of what to expect! .
