This weekend, the London Marathon will begin for the 44th time in its history, with participants running the traditional route between Greenwich Park and Buckingham Palace.

What time does the 2024 London Marathon start?
This year’s London Marathon will take place on Sunday April 21, 2024.
Here is the official race calendar:
- 9:05 a.m. – Start of the elite wheelchair race
- 9:25 a.m. – Start of the Elite Women race
- 10am – Start of the Elite men/mass race
A sequence of starting waves will last until 11:30 a.m. Prior to the competition, each participant will receive a registration email containing, among other things, information about the designated start wave and assembly area.
What is the route for the 2024 London Marathon?
The London Marathon will start in Greenwich Park. Participants will pass Cutty Sark, cross Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, then pass the Tower of London, the London Eye and Big Ben. The marathon will end at The Mall near Buckingham Palace.
How to watch the 2024 London Marathon in the UK
If you live in the United Kingdom, you can follow the Marathon on BBC platforms.
BBC 1: 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
BBC Two: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., BBC Two will broadcast highlights of the marathon.
