What is the Heirs of the Earth series about?
As explained in the section above, The Heirs of the Land will t ake us on a journey to the past, specifically to the year 1387, in a medieval Barcelona. We meet Hugo Llor, a 12-year-old boy who spends too much time on the street. Hugo has a very clear dream: to become a shipbuilder.
However, Hugo won’t have it easy as he will practically have to grow up on his own. His mother won’t be able to spend too much time with him and sooner or later she will end up moving out. Hugo will indeed approach the figure of an old man who will end up becoming his main source of protection.
The series is based on the homonymous novel by Idefonso Falcones, who you will know for having also written the famous novel by the cathedral of the sea, the first episode of this medieval story.
The Cathedral of the Sea also has an 8-episode series which premiered in 2018 and can currently be seen on Netflix. So if you haven’t seen the first part of this series yet, we recommend that you start by catching up on the first series of books.
