Never to be outdone by rivals like Apple and Samsung, Huawei has just announced no fewer than six new smartwatches.
We are all about consumer choice and Huawei’s new range of smartwatches, including the GT 5 series and the Watch D2, do just that. You can choose from different sizes, different models and different features.
With prices starting from £229.99, let’s dive into these new connected objects.
Huawei Watch GT 5
The new GT 5 series brings together smartwatches that most closely rival the likes of the Google Pixel Watch 3, Apple Watch Series 10, and Galaxy Watch 7.
Huawei offers the device in 41mm or 46mm sizes, but with radically different designs. The smaller one is more feminine while the larger one is more masculine, and there are several colorways to choose from.

The 41mm GT 5 offers up to 7 days of battery life, while the 46mm GT 5 doubles that to two weeks.
Both models benefit from Huawei’s new TruSense system, which allows for faster and more accurate tracking of health parameters than previous models. However, the Pro models have additional hardware and software features (see below).

We compare the Huawei Watch GT 5 and GT 5 Pro to help you choose.
Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro
Opt for a Watch GT 5 Pro and you’ll have a choice of 42mm or 46mm sizes, and like the standard model, each features a contrasting design. The larger model can last up to 14 days, double that of the smaller size.
In addition to choosing the design you prefer, Pro models add additional lures for extra money.

First off, you get the new Golf mode which features over 15,000 global golf course maps and all sorts of tracking, including your swing. There’s also an AI caddie to help you select a club and much more.
Additionally, the Pro features a Freedive mode (to depths of up to 40m), Trail Run, and ECG functionality.

Huawei Ultimate Green Edition Watch
This device is not completely new, but an updated version of last year’s Watch Ultimate.
The Green Edition adds a proprietary “two-tone nanotech ceramic bezel” that Huawei says requires a more complex manufacturing process.
Its color is appropriate because of the new Golf Course mode that offers all sorts of tracking and information for those who enjoy playing 18 holes. It can even map your swing and help you improve. Although that’s available on the GT 5 Pro above.
There is also a new Expedition mode and the device is compatible with both Android and iPhone.

Huawei D2 Watch
Touted as a “revolutionary innovation,” the Watch D2 is the world’s first “wrist-based ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) device to be certified by the NMPA and MDR.”
This means the D2 can provide accurate blood pressure measurements around the clock, just like you’d expect from your wearable device tracking your heart rate 24 hours a day. It’s part of the TruSense system for faster, more accurate results, according to the company.
The ultra-thin mechanical airbag is packed into a thin and lightweight design, but still features a large 1.82-inch display. It could be a game-changer for anyone who needs to monitor their blood pressure wherever they go.
A single click can also generate a health overview report with nine different body indicators.
