In Garde!, one of the pirates now that Skull & Bones does not arrive

arrive, Bones, garde, Pirates, Skull

One of the great games of recent years, which hasn’t quite happened, and it’s not quite clear why, is skull bones, from Ubisoft, a gigantic epic set in the golden age of pirates, when they traveled the seas of the world terrorizing all those who met them. Now, if you miss this experience, there is a PC game that indicates the ways and will process the termite with a little more grace and self-confidence. And no boats. Your name? On Guard!

On Guard! is a game that we were quite surprised when we saw it at the Future Games event from the Summer Game Fest held last June, when he made an appearance and many tagged him as in progress. So now that barely a month has passed, we already have the data on when we can play it.

Moqueteros, Zorro and even Puss in Boots

With all of these classic characters, he’s been compared On Guard!, a title that will come exclusively to PC -for now- and that prays for a sufficient triumph to give it wings to reach consoles. And so will arrive next August 16, in stores like Steam, where we can already add it to the Valve store wishlist.

As you are told, his approach is relatively simple, there are no boats as in skull bones not a huge ocean to navigate, but the typical scenarios of those centuries where people of rather lax morals did their own thing against everyone else. Here we will fight evil at the tip of the sword, with movements of fencing, dodging, stopping and dancing alongside the enemy while we give him the last rapier, in a development that many describe as hack’n’slash.

A woman as the protagonist

On Guard! We have a new female character in store for us who hopefully will end up becoming iconic, as in the case of other adventurers who starred in successful sagas. Here, she will be Adalia de Volador, a very Spanish name for an adventure in which we will face a tyranny that has subjugated the entire population.

The game has two very clear modes. In We have the story, which we must follow phase by phase until we finish the last of the enemies, and on the other, a kind of arena where you eliminate waves of enemies that appear constantly. This is a way to show whether we have learned the main moves of our swordsman or not.

Surely it seems like a very simple and simple game to you, but sometimes it’s in this type of development that the little gems are hidden which, basically, entertain without too many complications. Because look at the result of being so deep: that Skull and boness is still under development and with no sign that things will improve, and as long as it’s On Guard! lands on the market to show us how some swordsmen spent their time in the golden age of pirates.
