Last week we told you that the technical specifications of the first 14th Gen Intel Core processors had been leaked, but all the leaked models were from the K-serieswith the multiplier unlocked to make Overclock. However, the data of a new Intel Core 14 processor has leaked, in this case the first without K and which therefore targets the mid-range, and we were surprised to see that they are well below what in theory it was supposed to have.
And it is that for these things you should never trust 100% rumors and leaks; Contrary to previous reports, the Intel Core i5-14400 will not have 14 physical cores but will only have 10, just like its previous generation namesake. The person who made this leak also offered a brief summary of the technical specifications, which we will see immediately.
The first Intel Core 14 processor without “K”
As most of you already know, processors without K are versions of those that have it (for example, the Core i5-14600 is a scaled down version of the Core i5-14600K) but with lower operating frequencies, and of course, as we already mentioned, without the unlocked multiplier to be able to overclock; It’s also worth mentioning that these processors usually debut before their releases with K, i.e. they usually hit the market before.

The next update to the Raptor Lake processor family, known as the Core 14th Gen or Intel Core 14 series, is expected to introduce the Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K and Core i5-14600K models as we mentioned last week around October this year. However, Intel also has other non-K processors in the pipeline, indicating reduced performance but with a much lower TDP (65W?) for early next year.
The leaker, who is known to have knocked a few times in the past, confirms that the Core i7-14700 will have 20 cores, the same as the 14700K. For its part, previous reports suggested that the Core i5-14400 and Core i3-14100 would be updated with a higher core count compared to their current-gen counterparts, but according to this leak, that wouldn’t be the case, as the Core i5-14400 would have 6 P-Cores and 4 E-Cores identical to the current-gen 13400.
As for the base clock and cache size, there are no big changes from what we already knew, except for the Core i7-14700K which has 3MB more L3 cache (33MB total) as we already mentioned last week. What changes is the base frequency of the Core i5-14500 P-Cores, which reaches 2.6 GHz (100 MHz higher than expected). In this leak the Boost frequencies are not mentioned, but remember that it is already known that in theory they will be 200 MHz higher than current processors.
Recall that these Intel K-less processors should hit the market in early 2024, and will be the last major update to the Intel LGA1700 socket, which will change when the next generation is released.
