As Invincible’s second season ended, fans began to worry that they would once again have to wait a long time for new episodes. Although the creators promised that this time there would not be a two-year gap between seasons, they did not provide a potential release date for the series’ return. Fortunately, thanks to the first teaser for season 3, we know exactly when Invincible will return to Prime Video.
Season 2 of Invincible covered the story of dealing with trauma and coming of age, but also featured gruesome fights, alien invasions, and travel to other dimensions. Many fans may have thought that it would mainly be dedicated to fighting the Viltrumites. It turned out that the creators were still preparing the ground for a future war. So far, the Viltrumites are trying to take over Earth peacefully (by their standards), and Mark and his allies are looking for weapons against their powerful enemies.

When could Invincible season 3 be released?
The third season of Invincible will debut on Prime Video on Thursday February 6, 2025
Season 3 was greenlit in 2021. The creators of the series were aware of fans’ impatience. Robert Kirkman, writer of the Invincible comic book series, told Variety that there would be no repeat of the two-year gap between seasons. In March 2024, Steven Yeun, who plays Mark Grayson, confirmed to Collider that work on season 3 was already underway.
In Season 2, the creators even jokingly explained how complex the animation process is – talking about the scene in which Mark at Comic-Con talks to the author about his favorite comic and series.
What will the plot of Invincible season 3 be about?

So far, the creators have not announced an official plot description for season 3. However, thanks to the first teaser, we know that in the new installment Mark will undergo serious training, which will prepare him to fight the Viltrumites.

Nolan’s redemption arc
After the massacre on Earth, his time on the planet Thraxa and his reunion with Mark, Omni-Man was filled with remorse and longing for his family. Does this mean that in season 3 he could face the Viltrumites? First, he’ll have to escape from prison, probably with the help of the adorable Allen the Alien.
Of course, remember that Nolan is very old and Viltrumite ideals run deep within him. In fact, as an ally, he can be unpredictable.
The search for weapons against the Viltrumites
It turned out that the lame books Nolan wrote years earlier were remembrances of past adventures rather than science fiction stories. In the novels, Omni-Man was smuggling information about artifacts and beings powerful enough to harm the Viltrumites.
Among them was the Infinity Ray possessed by Space Racer. It is a weapon that emits an unstoppable wave of energy that can destroy everything. Another threat to the Viltrumites were the Rognarr, lizard-like creatures inhabiting a planet with dense gravity, which caused them to develop extraordinary strength.
Mark could seek out Space Racer and the Rognarrs in Season 3 to persuade them to fight against the Viltrumites.
Mark’s younger brother
A little purple boy named Oliver, the son of Nolan and the Empress of the planet Thraxa, could play a vital role in season 3. It is not yet known what characteristics the mixed DNA of a viltrumite and a an alien insect, but Oliver could surprise with his superpowers.

Angstrom Levy’s Revenge
The climax of the season 2 finale was the clash between Mark and the disfigured scientist, who was once a pacifist dreaming of bringing happiness to all dimensions.
The bloody standoff ended with Angstrom’s death, but does that mean we’ll never see him again? Not necessarily. Levy has had different versions of himself in alternate universes, so in season 3 we might see the return of Mark’s nemesis.
The romance of Mark and Atom Eve
Mark and Amber’s relationship wasn’t a surprise in season 2. In another dimension, Invincible learned that Eve had feelings for him. Although he hasn’t yet decided whether to ask her out, that could change in season 3.
The relationship between Monster Girl and Robot
Amanda and Rudy finally went on their first date, but their relationship quickly became rocky. By the end of the season, however, they had cleared things up. The girl accepted help from Robot, who wanted to end the harmful effects of her transformation into a monster.
In season 3, Rudy will likely try to find a solution to Amanda’s problems, as she becomes biologically younger with each transformation. Will these attempts succeed and will they not bring sinister results? Well, in Invincible, nothing is certain.

The squid invasion
After being rescued from the Sequids and returning from Mars, astronaut Rus attempted to rebuild his life. However, while cleaning his apartment, he was attacked again by an octopus-like creature that had apparently managed to reach Earth.
In an Alien type scene, Sequid embraced Rus and took over his body. So, in season 3, Invincible will likely have to deal with an invasion of body-snatching space parasites.
