A new version of iOS has been released and it seems to be an important update for many iPhone users.
According to Apple’s release notes, iOS 18.0.1 fixes the following issues on iPhone 16 models:
- The touchscreen may become temporarily unresponsive in certain circumstances on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.
- The camera may freeze when recording in macro mode with the Ultra Wide camera in 4K, when HDR is disabled on iPhone 16 Pro.
- Messages may end unexpectedly when you reply to a message with a shared Apple Watch face.
- Performance may be affected due to a memory allocation issue on some iPhone models.
Security fixes
iOS 18.0.1 also fixes some security vulnerabilities related to the Messages and Passwords applications:
- Audio notifications in Messages could record a few seconds of audio before the microphone indicator was activated. This is now fixed.
