The use of paper is becoming less and less common. The documents necessary for many contracts, registrations and other various procedures can now be carried out online. Likewise, over time, people print their photos less and use the cloud more, or even order personalized albums with elected officials.
This is why we ask ourselves, Is it profitable to buy a printer and its cartridges in 2023? We will analyze the possible cases and see if this type of equipment is economically profitable or if we can look for alternatives.
Should I buy a printer or do I have other options?
And honestly, in my opinion, if you are asking yourself this question it is because you are not a regular user. If you really needed it, you would already buy or renew the one you have.
And you’re probably wondering, What if one day I had to print something? Well, it depends on where you live, but if you have a copy store nearby, it can cost you around 10 cents a sheet. Now calculate how many you will need to make to make the cost of the cheapest printer (50 dollars) and its cartridges (which have limits) profitable.
And not only that, but if the inks are not used, they end up spoiling, so the investment, in the long run, would not be profitable either, and from time to time, if you need print a few sheets, you will have to buy new cartridges, with the corresponding expenses.
Now though, What should I do if I need to make multiple copies? In this case you make it easier for me, because thanks to the stores on websites we will have thousands of copies for just one cent per sheet and with delivery within 24 hours to our home, so if we need to print notes or photocopy a book, it will be much cheaper for us online. Even if we have already purchased a printer at home, we will spend more on using the ink than buying it in large quantities online or even in person at a cheap copy store.
In summary, We will spend around 100 dollars for a decent printer and its inks for around 200-300 copies, not including the cost of paper, which amounts to an additional 5 dollars minimum. We could have all this for around 5 dollars.
Only if we have enough space, we don’t mind spending time on it and we will make a few copies from time to time, avoiding the ink from drying, we could think about buying it, even whether it will be more about paying for convenience. as for savings, which is the key we wanted to achieve today.
So now you know, Economically, a printer will in no case be a good optionand today, between the fact that it is not necessary to print as many things and that there are many cheaper and faster alternatives, if you were hesitant to buy one, for my part I would not do not recommend it.
