It all depends on how Todd Philips’ new feature film performs at the global box office. However, Joker: Folie à Deux is expected to be one of the biggest films of the year. We think this will attract fans of the DC Universe, movie buffs and music lovers who want to see how Lady Gaga performs on the big screen.
If the audience for Joker 2 is indeed high, Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, will have no reason to release the film on VOD anytime soon. The studio’s highest-grossing films in 2023 and 2024 – Barbie, Wonka, Dune: Part 2 or Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire – arrived on digital platforms a month and a half after their theatrical release.

When will Joker: Folie à Deux be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
In the United States, physical copies of Warner Bros. films. generally appear quickly after their VOD release. The smash hits mentioned above, like Barbie or Dune: Part 2, arrived on DVD and Blu-ray just one month after their release on digital platforms.
If Joker: Folie à Deux follows a similar path, its physical copies could be available around mid-December 2024. Due to the upcoming Christmas and shopping frenzy, this date would work in favor of sales profits, so this prediction seems likely.
When could Joker: Folie à Deux be released on streaming services?
It’s harder to determine when a new Joker movie might be released for streaming because Warner Bros. does not have a template defined here.
Barbie was only released by Max nine weeks after its release on DVD and Blu-ray. Godzilla x Kong: The New Kingdom took three weeks, while Wonka only needed 10 days.
