We die to see Poison. If we've already fallen in love with Paquita Salas, the series also created by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, is inspired by the Valeria Vegas book, we hope to feel the same love for his new creation.
However, We know it is definitely a different love. While Paquita dismisses the gentle and the most humorous, Veneno makes himself a series with drama, the kind that gives goose bumps and makes you think.
I won’t lie, probably because of my age, I had to investigate who La Veneno was and why the Javis wanted to dedicate the series to him and Valeria wrote him a book. Obviously, his name was familiar to me, but I never saw him on television or knew the reason for his popularity.
Now I know: Cristina Ortiz Rodríguez, that is, La Veneno, was an icon for moving the image, exemplary for many, like her, forced to wrap up the opposite of what is happening now because they were born at a time when tetrogadism was the order of the day (almost now, go).
I would be lying if I said it wasn't hurt to see that, after reviewing several La Veneno videos on YouTube, they made fun of him in interviews. Make fun of the funny jokes and comments that Cristina had never heard of.
And then I understand why Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo wanted to recover Laenoeno's image: their story must be heard. I'll have to wait to see this series so I can confirm if it is true that it's a throwaway story or not (my motto tells me yes).
In the meantime, which I can confirm after seeing the trailer, is that the Veneno series promises a lot. Hopefully it meets our expectations.
When is Poison released?
This Sunday, March 29, we can see the first chapter of Poison. However, do not think that the expected series would undo the effects of Covid-19.
Due to the detention situation we find ourselves in, the production of the series is also affected. This means that, although we are able to enjoy the preview and the first chapter this Sunday, we will have to wait a few weeks to see the break.
This first chapter is expected to serve as an overview of what awaits us in the 8 50-minute chapters that make up the Veneno series.
Where will the Veneno series appear?
The series, inspired by the Valeria Vegas book, is a product of Atresmedia in partnership with Suma Latina and a collaboration with Apache Films. Then, as you can probably guess, it will be released from the payment platform for Atresplayer Premium.
If you want to see the Veneno series for free, you can try the free trial month provided by the platform, although we recommend staying longer from 2.99 euros per month you can access more content to broadcast.
Who will do La Veneno?
The main character of the series, namely, La Veneno, will be represented by three different actors: Jedet, Daniela Santiago and Isabel Torres. We can confirm that this is a major criticism of the character Jedet, who saw him make the second character in the third season of Paquita Salas.
In this series we will be able to see other faces known as Lolaangeleñas, Goya Toledo, Ester Expósito or Elvira Minguez.
