Moon Knight was a breath of fresh air for the MCU, with no connection to previous Marvel properties. Starring Oscar Issac in the lead role, this series follows a vigilante with multiple personalities who struggles to understand his powers and his backstory.
The series has been generally well received by fans, but will there be more Moon Knight? We’ve rounded up everything we know about the future of the series. You can also check out the best shows and movies on Disney+ right now.
Will there be a second season of Moon Knight?
Moon Knight has not been confirmed for a season 2but rumors suggest that Marc Spector’s story isn’t over yet.
ComicBook.com had an interview with Oscar Issac, who said the following: “There were specific conversations… They were nice. The dumping of details means that there are no details. We do not know [if there will be a second season]but we talk about it.
He continues: “Actually, it’s about history. Is there a story worth telling? It’s interesting? Will I feel embarrassed when it comes out?
Marvel’s head honcho Kevin Feige also gave Culture Slate the following quote: “I’m very proud of the Ms. Marvel show. I also know – and this is a spoiler – she basically steals The Marvels… It makes me excited that people hopefully see this movie and then come back and revisit these shows on Disney+.
The fun thing about streaming is that they’re there forever and people can keep re-exploring them. Moon Knight, same thing. I think there is a future for this character as we move forward.
To add further speculation, executive producer Mohamed Diab sent a TikTok showing himself and Oscar Issac in Cairo. However, a second season has not been officially confirmed by Disney/Marvel.
It could also be a joke on the crew’s part, although we hope that’s not the case.
Prior to that, Diab told Deadline the following: “Marvel doesn’t follow a conventional path, so even if they like the character and want to expand the world, it could be season 2, it could be a standalone movie, or he can join another superhero’s journey.
There was even more fuel added to the fire when someone noticed that the official Marvel Studios Twitter account had deleted a tweet stating that the last episode was the “series finale” and changed it to “finale. of the season “. However, it could just be a grammatical error.
Conversely, the show was submitted in the “Limited Series” category at the Emmys, which would indicate that Moon Knight is a standalone show.
Now, rumors on a subreddit that has had credible leaks in the past claim that Moon Knight season 2 will be released before Avengers: Secret Wars. This film is currently due for release on May 5, 2026 and will close out Phase 6.
There are still plenty of empty slots in this phase, so a second season of Moon Knight might make sense during this time.
Marvel is likely seeing the reaction to the series and weighing Stephen Grant/Marc Spector’s future. Once we know more, we will update this article.
Spoilers for the Moon Knight ending ahead.
Moon Knight Ending Explained – Who Is Jake Lockley?
If you’ve watched the show all the way to the end (post-credits and all), you’ll know there was a huge reveal at the end of the show. It seemed that Marc and Stephen had found common ground and learned to work together.
However, Marc’s brain is far more damaged than he ever imagined, as there is a third personality in his head called Jake Lockley.
Jake is a taxi driver in the comics, and in the show he’s a ruthless Spanish-speaking killer who seems to have a good relationship with Khonshu – despite Marc and Stephen breaking up with the god.
Jake ended Arthur Harrow by shooting him in the head, and we’ve seen in other blackouts throughout the series that the man doesn’t shy away from dealing brutally with his enemies. However, how will Marc and Stephen react to the presence of this third character? And what does this mean for their relationship with Khonshu?
There are plenty of avenues to explore if Moon Knight is picked up for a second season or a spin-off movie.
