It does not mean, of course, for every new generation we will find motherboards for all components and at all pricesSo don't despair as you'll find the right motherboard for your new generation budget.
However, it must be said that it is true that when we compare the plates of the present generation with those of the last few generations we see that both medium and high value, which is an expensive model, they are too high. Also, the price difference between the lowest end models and the highest end models can have an abysmal difference, up to 10 times higher, why does this happen?
Why is the price of motherboards increasing?
Currently, what kind of motherboard to buy has become a problem. If you already know which generation you want to buy, it's easy to select a processor and the options will be limited to compatible chipsets; for example, if you choose Intel's platform you know that the H series is the most basic, B is the center point and the Z series is the highest.. But with all that, what should you use a motherboard for? Why is there such a difference in price?
Visible attribute and multiple extension options
The motherboard is similar to the PC's nervous system: this is where everything is connected and that is what connects all the components to each other, so it's really important for the computer's performance.
The number of social networks you have directly influences how much Hardware can be connected to, and we're not just talking about number of PCI-Express feet or of Number of USB ports you have but from and generation and speed of these. This is another obvious difference between a high-end and high-end entry board, for example.
PCI-Express ports are used primarily for connecting graphics cards, but also for sound cards and, in general, all types of expansion cards, so, it's a factor to consider depending on the use you will give the machines. The same goes for SATA number and even USB ports, but there is something else to consider here and that is the controller.
In the same way, connectivity and expansion options also have an impact on, for example, the amount of RAM and speed on which the board works, even if it supports the new M.2 SSD format, as well as whether it supports PCIe NVMe or just SATA.
The speed and generation of all ports it will decide to work, both in absolute value and in terms of bandwidth to be able to connect as many devices as we need. In other words, high-quality motherboards have more and better communication, and this is a powerful factor in the motherboard.
Better materials and more quality
The high-end motherboard usually has a better selection of features, such as a 10-layer PCB for better stability either electronically or integrating audio chip input, has better VRM and processor and / or RAM, and in this case some manufacturers say even that they pick the elements by hand to make sure they have the best quality.
This also contributes to indirect performance, as a motherboard with better VRM can support a higher level of overload in the processor and memory. For example, it would not make much sense to buy a high-end motherboard with great overulsing capabilities and use a processor that does not support extremes, would it?
As such, high quality motherboards often offer better heatsinks for VRMs and / or chipsets, something that influences the overall performance of the equipment and its longevity by maintaining better operating temperatures.
Logically, the use of better materials also increases the cost of production, both in materials and in the design of the plate itself because it will require the use of complex and comprehensive systems.
Features of products
Well-known manufacturers such as ASUS or Gigabyte usually have their own distinctive features in the competition and in order to extend their purchase motives. For example, RGB lighting on your logo, your software will add extra or monitor (which should include sensors), LED / OLED panels or direct compatibility with standard liquid cooling systems.
The development of all this also has a certain cost that they logically want to pay for when they sell their products, and this is obviously something that they gradually add to the board's range.
The price of motherboards has a reason to make better and better features
The summary of all this is that as the PC PC generations in advance, technology is also at the forefront. Manufacturers of motherboards are always willing to offer the biggest things possible, even though in the end users normal users don't even use half of them. In any case, each generation is more expensive because it incorporates more and better features.
However, as we mentioned earlier, we will always be able to find the right mother boards for the processor we want, even if we have to be fixed with boards that are not LED or overly greasy, or have no recent connection.
