It is very likely that Motorola is on the verge of updating its line of high-end smartphones with the new Motorola Edge 20 Lite, Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro.
We’ve already seen some big rumors about what to expect, so if you’re interested in the update, you won’t be disappointed.
Here’s what we know so far about the new Motorola Edge 20 Lite, Edge 20, and Edge 20 Pro.
What is the Motorola Edge 20 release date?
According to Motorola’s Chinese profile on Weibo, we can expect a big launch on August 5th. Although the Edge 20 series name is not explicitly mentioned in the post in question, an exploded view of the phone’s camera module is shown, hinting at a possible approach to the device.
Prior to that, several news sites reported a launch in late July, while the company has since teased “something” on its social media, based on pinned tweets, originally posted on July 20.
According to a TechRadar report, the phone will launch in India in late July or the first half of August, so availability could vary by region as well.
This could be due to the fact that a certification list was recently seen in China, in which several models appear which are presumed to be the Edge 20 and the Edge 20 Pro. Since the phones are already in the certification phase, it may be shortly before its official launch.
The first Motorola Edge was announced in April 2020 and was available at the end of May. Obviously, since then the world has experienced massive disruption due to the pandemic situation, so it makes sense to postpone the launch schedule for a few months.
How much will the Motorola Edge 20 cost?
While we now know a lot about the specs of these upcoming phones, there is little news on their cost.
The only real pricing rumor we’ve seen is the standard Edge 20 model, which TechRadar says will cost around ₹30,000 in India, around $ 340.
What are the specifications of the Motorola Edge 20?
The list leaked by tech whistleblower Evan Blass (@Evleaks on Twitter), it actually shows three different models, with a regional variant, for a total of four devices.

Other reports from Android Authority and other sites show a slightly different combination of components on the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro models.
Citing listings from Chinese certification site TENAA, the Edge 20 will feature the same overall build as reported by Evan Blass, but will include an OLED display, an additional 12GB memory option, and a smaller 3,760mAh battery. The dimensions would also be 163.5 x 76.2 x 7.1 mm, with a weight of 167 grams.
The Pro, which Android Authority calls Plus, will again have an OLED display, a 12GB memory option, and a 4,230mAh battery. The dimensions are 163.3 x 76.1 x 7.9 mm, for a weight of 190 grams.
