Ninja’s 9.5-Quart Double Stack XL Air Fryer is the brand’s latest and most innovative, packing four cooking zones into a compact form that won’t overwhelm a smaller kitchen counter.
Or at least it is was Ninja has announced three new Double Stack models at IFA. They’re coming to the UK, but we don’t yet know if they’ll be available in the US.
We were there to test them out in person. You can compare them to the best Ninja air fryers and cookers currently available in our roundup, and browse all of our favorite products from IFA in our IFA Awards article.
The dual-stack SL300

At 7.6 litres, this model is even more compact than the original 9.5-litre model. Its design is very similar, but it is not as deep.
We rate the original DoubleStack highly, but when we tested it (see our review) we found that its depth means it sticks out from other appliances on the countertop – meaning it’s not a perfect solution for every kitchen.
This shouldn’t be a problem with the new compact model.
Each cooking drawer has a capacity of 3.8L and has the same features as the previous model, meaning you can use two different cooking methods simultaneously, but activate the timing function and complete them at the same time.
Ninja reckons it can still hold enough food to feed six people. We think that’s a little optimistic, but with two cooking zones per basket, it’s certainly maximising its space. Each drawer can cook 400g of fries or a 1.2kg roast chicken.
It comes in black, instead of the dark grey of the original model, and we love this little model. Ninja hasn’t announced a price or release date yet, but we’ll update this article when we know more.
The Double Stack XL with Smart Cook system

Ninja also showed off the SL451, another new DoubleStack XL model. It looks a lot like the original, with a 9.5L capacity, except it comes with a cooking probe. This means it’s a better option for cooking fresh meat and fish and getting perfect results, rather than cooking frozen food, where you simply follow the instructions on the package.
It has the same six cooking functions as its predecessor: air fry, max crisp, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate.
Again, no price or release date has been confirmed.
Limited Edition Double Stack XL White
Emma Rowley / Foundry
The third Ninja model revealed is exactly the same as the original 9.5-litre Double Stack, except it’s white and will only be available at Currys.
While we think the white model looks great on display, it will obviously take a little more work to keep it looking good once it’s installed in your kitchen. Grey and black appliances do a good job of hiding sauce or oil stains on your cooktop, but a white appliance will make every stray stain stand out.
We expect this model to retail for the same price as the original, which you can buy for £229.99 from Currys. Unless you’re a stickler for cleaning, we’d recommend going for the original grey model. Read our Double Stack XL review to find out if it’s right for you.
