Air fryers save time, but in return, you’ll have to give up a lot of counter space. If your kitchen is small, this may be a problem. When you already have a microwave, kettle and toaster on the counter – and then add an air fryer – that can leave you with little space for food preparation.
Enter Ninja’s Double Stack Air Fryer, which aims to solve this problem with a construction that stacks two cooking drawers on top of each other (as you might have guessed from the product name ) instead of side by side, as with the Ninja Foodi Max. Double zone.
Ninja doubles down on its space-saving philosophy by providing two cooking racks per drawer, to double the cooking space again.

Better yet, it has a multi-cooking mode that will allow you to cook four different dishes at the same time, using different cooking methods. It also features the ‘sync’ and ‘match’ features which will be familiar to anyone who already owns a two-drawer Ninja. Activate the “synchronization” function and the food in both drawers will be ready at the same time, so you can prepare them immediately. Meanwhile, “match” allows you to copy the cooking setting from one drawer to another.
Two models are available: one with a capacity of 9.5 liters, the other with 7.6 liters. The smallest of these is just 30cm wide, about the same width as a toaster, which is a great use of space. The 9.5 liter model has the capacity to roast a whole chicken in one drawer and still has room for two sides in the other. Ninja estimates you can cook a meal for eight people in it.

The air fryer has eight cooking settings: air fry, maximum crispiness, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate. The heat source is at the back of the unit, and like all air fryers, the heat is circulated by a fan to ensure even cooking across all layers of food. The drawers are coated with non-stick ceramic for easy cleaning.
As of now, the Double Stack has only been confirmed for Europe, not the US, and no pricing or release date has been announced. We will update this article when we know more. In the meantime, take a look at our roundup of the best air fryers we’ve tested for our top recommendations.
