Business is running out for the Japanese company, which hasn’t been able to adapt to the new times despite everything on its face and total market dominance with its Switch. Steam Deck has arrived and destroyed everything and everyone with a wonderful strategy from Valve that has taken Nintendo on foot and the only solution left is precisely that of veto.
Outdated and slow hardware and graphics from a decade ago
We agree that Nintendo has long since left the race for the best graphics to focus on other areas and one of them was magnificent: that of a portable console and a desktop computer at a time.
But this console has barely undergone any improvements, NVIDIA doesn’t seem to be planning to spend the time and money to develop a chip with iGPU Ampere or at least Turing as such anytime soon despite rumors of Switch 2 in road and logically it’s too late.
The game emulation community is once again ahead of Nintendo and this time a user named The Phawx uploaded an illustrative video about the power of Steam Deck and how by emulating Switch it was able to achieve much higher performance than the Japanese console.
Nintendo Switch vs Steam Deck: Veto is the only option
The Switch 2, if it ever hits the market, will come late and badly, despite what Nintendo wants to sell. In the meantime, he has a legion of workers scouring the web for content he can flag and veto for copyright reasons.
That’s what happened to The Phawx, who saw his video removed from YouTube after Nintendo complained. The reasons are simple: who would buy a Switch if Steam Deck did the same thing, better and faster and in addition it had many more possibilities?
Well, as soon as the money really doesn’t reach anyone in their right mind, unless they’re a strong brand believer or just don’t want to complicate their time a bit. In any case, it is more than likely that the very successful Switch sales have come to an end and the record will continue to rise, there is no doubt, but at an infinitely greater rate than what the Japanese company saw.
Meanwhile, Steam Deck is a smash hit, with top-notch hardware and options available that make even PS5 and XSX swoon at this point. What is clear is that with these practices, Nintendo will not win friends.
