Nothing has released a teaser image for its upcoming smartphone, which the company says is “coming soon.”
However, it won’t be the Phone (3), which has been confirmed for 2025. Rather, it will be the first smartphone from CMF by Nothing, a sub-brand of the main company.
Nothing concrete has been revealed about the phone yet, but rumors suggest it will hit the market in July at a price under $300, making it an even more affordable option than the Nothing Phone (2a) at £319/$329.
As for the design, the teaser image features an orange device and with a leather-like texture. However, last week Nothing also revealed a matte black version of the phone.
It appears the company has incorporated a dial in the lower right corner of the back, the purpose of which remains unknown. On the left side is the “Nothing Lock”, which would allow users to attach accessories such as a wrist strap.

Despite its affordable price, the CMF Phone 1 would feature a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM, and 128 or 256GB of internal storage.
Additionally, the phone is said to feature 50MP rear cameras and 16MP selfie cameras, a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging via USB-C, and a User replaceable plastic back.
Apart from the confirmed orange and black colors, it could also be available in green and blue finishes, with the orange variant potentially exclusive to certain markets.

As a reminder, the Nothing Phone (2a) integrates the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro associated with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage and a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has also has a 5,000 mAh battery, but offers faster 45W charging.
The CMF Phone 1 could therefore be a real godsend for anyone who doesn’t like the rather bold (even by Nothing standards) design of the Phone (2a). However, it remains to be seen how many compromises will be made.
