Samsung just announced its 2024 lineup of flagship Android tablets… but to my surprise, there’s no Galaxy Tab S10.
And what I mean by that is that there is no such thing as a regular pattern. Samsung has decided to significantly change the layout of its Galaxy Tab series.
After two generations of offering a trio of models (standard, plus and Ultra), the Korean tech giant has decided to abandon the smallest and cheapest member of the family. Like that.
Over the years, Samsung has expanded the Galaxy Tab’s options, but for 2024 there are only the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.
I did a double take reading the press materials before this announcement, but it wasn’t a mistake.
After asking Samsung about this, it told Tech Advisor: “Correct, just the Tab S10 Ultra and Tab S10+.” »
Without wanting to explain why, we have to speculate on why the range was reduced from three to two.
I guess it mainly depends on the sales performance of the last two generations, with the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S9 being the least popular of the range.
This would seem strange, however, given that these are the most affordable options, with the Plus and Ultra models being more expensive than many laptops on the market. However, the classic and most affordable iPad may just be too hard to compete with in the tablet world.
Whatever the reason, you’ll have to choose between the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra this year and you can learn more about both of these new slates here.
There’s no doubt that the Galaxy Tab S9 will remain on sale at Samsung and other retailers if you want to get it instead.
