If you don't use Microsoft on PC, say goodbye to Game Pass
Let's start this story by making us at the heart of the question. If you want Game Pass, you must create an account, such as logical and normal, at least to have your user and your password with which access to the game catalog. OK, an account for Game Pass just as we all have an account for Steam or for Epic Games, there is no problem. The problem lies when you want to use it.
You register for Game Pass, activate your account, you pay for the subscription, open the Xbox application on your PC and connect. An error message like the one you can see above tells you that the Xbox account is different from the account you use in Microsoft and lets you do nothing else.
This obviously happens when you have configured Windows with a local administrator account, that is to say when you do not have a Microsoft account associated with the PC. And of course, this is the perfect excuse for Microsoft to try to pass the hoop … again.
As you saw in the capture above, there is a button that puts “reviewed”, and if you press the system, it offers you two options that you can see below.
The option of the left, “maintain the configuration”, leave things as they are, that is to say that you keep your local administrator and always unable to download any gaming game game. What the right option is doing is to establish your playwater account as a Microsoft account of the PC, making you pass through the hoop and sell your soul (or that of your PC) to those of Satya Nadella. The user's avatar will modify you, add your email to your account, activate all telemetry, you will install OneDrive and other things without your permission and a long etcata.

And why not use a Microsoft account and that's it?
At this point, many will say: and why don't you use the Game Pass account on the PC and that's it? Total, what's wrong with it? I will give you my personal opinion on this subject, and the summary is “because I don't want to”. I refuse to go through the hoop. My PC is mine, I have an original Windows license for which I have already paid in my time, and I do not want to associate my personal PC with an online account of a company. This then makes a change in your PC without your consent and what is happening.
And with a local account, the owner of my PC content is exclusively me. If you use your PC with an online account, you leave not only to have content membership, but also control and it is really serious. To give you an example, imagine that Microsoft servers are falling and you can access your own PC. You wouldn't like anyone, right? Well, that.
What is left without playing? Well, goodbye game pass. I have Steam, Gog, Epic games and a lot of alternatives.
