Realme has announced that its next GT phone will hit the global market, just over a year after the launch of the latest model – the Realme GT 2 – in China.
But what is confirmed about the Realme GT 3 so far? Here’s what we know from the official news, plus the rumors currently circulating.
What is the Realme GT 3 release date?
The Realme GT 3 has been confirmed for a “global” launch this month – February 2023. The exact countries haven’t been revealed, but generally the phones are sold in Europe and India.
Realme announced the news alongside the unveiling of the Realme GT Neo 5, which is a Chinese exclusive.
Given the delays, chances are the company will delay the official launch of MWC, where many other tech rivals will unveil their own new smartphones. This one is due to start in Barcelona on February 27, 2023.
That makes sense, as the GT 2 and GT 2 Pro launched globally at MWC last year, with the phones then hitting shelves in March 2022.
How much will the Realme GT 3 cost?
Realme has yet to reveal pricing for the Realme GT 3, or whether a “Pro” version will also be launched alongside the standard version.
Previous Realme GT phones had the following starting prices (for the base model):
Therefore, it’s likely that the GT 3 will start around $650/£500 for the standard version and $850/£700 for the GT 3 Pro – if it even exists.
What features will we see in the Realme GT 3?
Officially, the only thing we know about the Realme GT 3 is that it will offer 240W fast charging technology, which would make it one of the fastest phones to go on sale. It shares the honor alongside the recently announced Realme GT Neo 5.
Realme released a teaser image for the phone’s launch, sadly without any hint of the device itself.
Kingdom
We’re guessing it’s the exact same SuperVOOC technology as the Neo model, which uses two charging lanes, each delivering 120W. The GT Neo 5 comes with a mini dual GaN (gallium nitride) charger with a 12A custom charging cable, so it’s likely the GT 3 is too.
Realme claims that it takes about nine and a half minutes to charge the GT Neo 5 from empty to full, and that just 30 seconds of juice would provide two hours of continuous calls. You can see the technology in action below.
91mobiles claims the Realme GT 3 will be available with two charging speeds, 150W and 240W – the same offerings for the GT Neo 5. If true, that would imply that a Pro version of the GT 3 is almost certainly on the way. maps.
The Realme GT 3 might “borrow” some of the other features from the Realme GT Neo 5. This is quite common when phone makers sell slightly different models in different markets.
The GT Neo 5 has a 6.74-inch 144Hz OLED display and a 50MP main camera. It also features customizable RGB lighting and comes in three color options: purple, silver, and black.
However, Realme has opted for a cleaner finish with its GT range compared to the bold GT Neo models of the past.
Last year, the Realme GT 2 Pro used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Qualcomm announced the successor processor in November 2022, so it’s possible that a putative Realme GT 3 Pro will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
