We are going to remember the last days above all because they were the protagonists of the announcement of the arrival of CS GO 2he shooter competitive team for Valve which has enjoyed success for over a decade and which, in that time, has become one of the largest eSports communities to have been able to create around. Everything changes to stay the same

Luckily, Valve was much smarter and called CS GO 2 to what could have been CSGO 2.0, or any number indicating that we are facing an improvement from what we currently have. It is obvious that technologically this is an incredible leap compared to what we have seen since the mythical patch 1.6 but do not be fooled by it: the North Americans have changed everything to, basically, remain the same: maps, characters, cosmetics and game mechanics.
It’s bad? Not at all, since there is a reason of great weight which is the one that guided this roadmap CS GO 2 just told us ahead of its launch this summer.
Everything comes together in eSports
CSGO was already a multiplayer phenomenon before the stage of eSports has grown exponentially since the middle of the last decade, when these gigantic events begin to take place in Poland (in Katowice) and in many countries are flourishing professional leagues that almost all children aspire to join from home. Its community and the influence of the competitive aspect are so important that the improvements that could be added to make these games an even bigger spectacle weighed heavily.
CS GO 2 will replace CSGOIs it clear to us? hence the restyling of all the usual cards, the new agent modeling which will be more in line with what the graphics technology of 2023 allows and, obviously, wonders like smoke, so important in the displays teams and that now it will be volumetric so we can separate it with grenades or shots to discover the opposing team.
The good thing about Valve’s decision is that we will have a CSGO supervitamin, prettier, funnier and more accurate who were called CS GO 2 for a simple reason: it is the starting point of something much bigger that will come over the years. And that’s good news because everything changes to stay the same, but not to mention that new content will be needed to spend another decade reigning in this segment of the shooters with the professional eSports ecosystem.
For the moment we have to wait for the summer but if you are a regular CSGO Don’t worry, Valve was smarter than Blizzard and he knows exactly what things he can touch and, more importantly, what he can’t.
