OnePlus plans to end the year by expanding its large family of terminals in those production areas where it has not yet been available, and is doing so with the new N10 5G and N100, both for the Nord series of decent widths.
What we have now in our hands is the Nord N10 5G, which we offer a deep account.
Build and build quality
We quickly realized that OnePlus is trying to pass the context of high-end terminals at this mid-point limit, where it maintains a large 6.49-inch screen with a value of 20: 9.
Adequate size required by the general public. However, there are a number of features you should be willing to sacrifice on the N10 and N100, some of which have been the hallmark of this brand for years.
Such is the ‘Alert Slider’ most notable of all OnePlus, that in this Nord N10 5G model, it stays on track, as is the case with the N100 entry level. You will not be able to mute the alerts or alerts immediately with the sidebar switch.
The model obtained from the test, the only one you will find for sale, has a Midnight Ice black back made of plastic material, which shows amazing ease at the end of the fingers.
The company logo and name are always visible in the background, as well as the location of the fingerprints to open the terminal. These types do not connect to the screen, something the model does OnePlus North from the same family.
That does not prevent the user from feeling satisfied and explicitly when opening the terminal. Along with fingerprints, we also have facial expressions as an alternative to regular finger use.
What you will most enjoy is the presence of a 3.5 mm mini-jack connector on the N10, as well as stereo speakers at the bottom of the cell phone, and above the front screen, Allowing you to hear loud and clear and without distortion of the metal.
To close this section, the OnePlus includes a power adapter and a dedicated product cable, but it also incorporates a type of silicone case as it does in other models, and in Nord.
Screen
As we have expected, the screen size, completely clear, is 6.49 inches with Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels), very similar to 6.44 inches at Nord.
However, the main difference is that the Nord N10 5G panel is a type of IPS LCD, compared to the Fluid AMOLED used on my older brother. With just a difference of € 50 in price, it can be a decisive factor in choosing one model or another.
For display purposes, the difference may not be so great. But if you have the opportunity to experiment with each other, as has always been the case with us, you will see that the AMOLED version looks great with brightly colored colors.
To the left of the image is the Nord N10 5G, and to the right, the top-of-the-range Nord of the series.
And Nord 5’s light levels are higher than the N10 5G, to the point that outside and during the day, you may need to raise your eyes to see all the details. 400 dpi is far from the number of high-end panels.
The good news here is that we have a refreshing 90 Hz rating, which is pretty obvious compared to using 60 Hz, especially when you’re used to managing an interface with these values.
One front camera, moved to the left corner of the screen, and smeared on glass, makes it a great viewing area. Oxygen OS allows us to switch display modes, in night mode and the other in reading mode.
Details and functionality
To be able to deliver games with any type of system, the Nord N10 5G has an 8-nanometer Snapdragon 690 5G processor inside, a processor that comes to provide 5G connectivity on phones that are considered in-range.
Its figures, as we see in the graphs, are lower than those offered by the Snapdragon 720G, which is available on mobiles like the Realme 7 Pro, or Redmi Note 9 Pro from Xiaomi, but offers size to deal with countless common tasks with great solvency.
In fact, to prevent the slightest difference in graphics that can be seen in the fps results of the various game titles we have simulated, the N10 5G will play gen-gener games freely with a good level of refreshment.
Equipped with a processor configuration total 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, with storage of 128 GB UFS 2.1. It is possible to increase this value due to the existing MicroSD card slot in the tray, where we also have a dual nano SIM card.
Battery, fast charging and independent
With a 4,200 mAh battery, and a 30-watt Warp Charge for fast charging, we think it offers everything the current phone should have. Work efficiently by ensuring independence and allowing instant charging from time to time.
In our examination stop sign and, as can be seen from the graph, we obtained with Geekbench utility 6210 points at 10 hours and 21 minutes before we were completely exhausted.
For fast charging, 30 W leaves us with acceptable charging times, although it seems reasonable, far from models that already support 65 W. This does not prevent us from getting 65% of the battery in just 30 minutes of connecting to power.
Set of cameras
In terms of the camera collection, we have a full fourth sensor for the video and photo segment, where we have to add a selfie camera set in front of 16 MP and focus on f / 2.0.
The sensor specification is very similar to that already presented by the OnePlus Nord model, which has a large 64 Mp camera and f / 1.79 aperture, its sensor compatible with the Sony IMX585, which gave such excellent results. in the OnePlus 8 family.
Therefore, images captured by a large camera offer a beautiful range of dynamics, with a white balance and a variety of bright colors without the obvious complement to the reality you have in front of your eyes.
The second sensor is a wide angle of 8 MP and f / 1.75 where the purpose is to increase the capture angles. Mobile artificial intelligence does a great job of fixing common distortions of images, however, in some cases it is noticeable.
There’s also a big color difference between the shots taken with a large sensor and wide angle, something OnePlus should try to fix with software updates. Most noticeable when you update images on the big screen, as you can see.
The other two cameras are equipped with a 2 MP macro lens and f / 2.4 aperture, as well as a monochrome that repeats the same specifications. While it is good to know that you can rely on them from time to time, you should know that they are almost as mature.
The results we got by shooting Macro mode were not surprising, in most cases to give them time to take pictures and you have to hold them again if you want to get good focus results.
Mention here that we still do not have the optical zoom option on this N10 5G, so if you decide to use digital, pay attention to sound in some cases.
The OnePlus night mode has always impressed us and we should say that what the N10 5G has done is not surprising, it shows that the brand has polished this very catchy mode, especially when there is some light inside, as in the picture of the light source.
Above you can see the effect of using night mode, while in the picture below, using a large camera, the details are lost due to lack of light.
About mode the photo you tookThat is to say it offers a wide angle bet with a single 16 MP lens and f / 2.05 aperture where we get good image cuts in portrait mode and sharpness without losing big details along the way.
For video purposes, we do not have an optical stabilizer either, which is uncommon in this price range, but we do have EIS or electronic stability. We confirm that there is still room for improvement here, as the recordings taken during the tour show its effectiveness.
Depending on the supported signals, it is possible to record in 4K at a rate of 30 fps, or at 1080p at 60 fps or Super Slow Motion at 120 fps. All of those scenes you record in broad daylight can be used for projects or videos at home with acceptable quality.
Software and applications
Somehow, the OnePlus here had a chance to surprise us in the middle class if it had chosen to equip the N10 5G with Oxygen OS based on Android 11, something that didn’t happen.
In this way, the new terminal continues to install the Oxygen OS layer on Android 10, although the company already expects the upgrade to reach these models in the coming months.
In this way, the high usage we found in OnePlus 8T, with a very clean and powerful interface design, and a screen mapping to enable you to easily access it with your thumb, we are not here.
There is also no black mode interface, or other features such as screen reading mode, or night mode, to dim the lighting and adapt it to each and every day of your day.
To say here that if we use the regular screen option, which is available in 8T, it is difficult to go back to the unimaginable model, but it makes sense that we are talking about two very different product categories that cost one more than twice as much.
Price and where to buy
New OnePlus Nord N10 5G It is already on sale for the proposed price of € 349 for the model with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. For sale with a black finish called Midnight Ice.
Within the OnePlus Nord series, it is currently available in the middle of the table, because below is the new one N100 for $199, and the one we already have a chance to try, the In the north at $399, only $50 is more expensive.
Note here that at Nord you will find a variety of colors and configurations, as you can choose a model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of $499 storage.
The decision
The company has expanded the Nord Series with two new models. In the absence of a test of the performance of the N100, it seems more reasonable than the N10 5G analyzed here, if at all, Oneplus is available at an entry level of $199 which it did not have so far.
As the N10 5G is analyzed here, we can see that there are a few differences in relation to the one that opened the series, the Nord, and although a few months have passed since its launch, it doesn’t seem to affect the passage of time.
For an additional $50, Nord offers a better screen with a 90 Hz Fluid AMOLED panel, a highly efficient Snapdragon chip, and for practical purposes, many different settings to choose from.
Both have 5G connections, and while it is true that the new N10 5G has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, this will be one of the few advantages over the other Nord model.
