Features and technical specifications
This postcard was a lot of fun since it came into our hands. And when we find and click what we can see are references to the graphics card technology with reference parameters, that is, as AMD has done.
But the next day we got an update from AMD and Sapphire based on a new card BIOS that left these components behind and classified them as a "Silent" BIOS, while the new BIOS was confirmed as a new reference specification (download from here)
There is nothing new in this regard if it weren't for the details: the GDDR6 RAM memory speed from 1500 MHz to 1750 MHz, that is, 12 Gbps at 14 Gbps, where at one point the clocks were pressed in all three modes of shaders. Many parameters have changed and it was time to collect these new features:
So also see the changes, starting with the concern that Sapphire hasn't changed the card base frequency, but its Game Clock reaches 1615 MHz and its Boost Clock reaches 1750 MHz, a huge increase.
In addition, the GDDR6 speed increased to 1750 MHz, which means a greater bandwidth, yielding a 47% increase 336 GB / s.
All this increase gives us an FP32 performance of 7,813 TFLOPS and at the same time the card goes from a TDP of 150 watts to 160 watts. Clearly, he does 36 CU with 2304 Shaders, 144 TMU and 64 ROPs and its compatibility 3 MB of L2and 6 GB of VRAM with its 192 bits.
This workflow should have an exciting increase in performance that brings you closer to the performance of the RX 5700. By its own standards, it replaces 254 x 135 x 46.5 mm, which means the size is 2.3 Slots, so we're all before the same card.
External updates
A combination of these Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT 6GB it comes with a vertical structure, something that is not uncommon today and is slightly broken and invented. The view is really nice, the product line, where the front and the back show the main benefits of the model.
Surprisingly, the technical aspects are not shown, something we have already confirmed why it comes this way.
Once the corresponding mark has been broken, which we will find is a cardboard box without serigraphy, perfectly smooth and a lateral opening that protects the GPU from any blows.
Additionally and once we open this new box, we see how the thickened foam layer enhances the front protection of this RX 5600 XT 6 GB. The GPU comes wrapped in a standard antistatic bag and is delivered without being detected.
Out of the box, we see that size is very important for the mid-range model, with Custom PCB excess in width and height, allowing the product to be included two followers of 9 cm with 9 spots each, all within the product's Dual-X Cooling system.
Its cover comprises of good ABS plastic and finishes in three distinct areas depending on the aesthetics, one of which mimics the grill.
Let's see on both sides of the star sign a red light (so it doesn't have an RGB system), while at the same time we see a 6 mm heat pipe coming out of the body with the PCB on the card. It includes in its feed one connector for 8 pins, enough as it will see later, as well as a BIOS switch switch on its left side.
On the side of the card we see how the lid is more open to make the airflow and cooling of the PCIe skin itself, where we can also see two other heat pipes attached to its heatsink.
Although they may come in various sizes, the three fittings are 6 mm, is the result of curiosity that can be seen both in the image and in itself and because of their various lengths and turns.
Its backdrop is quite interesting, as it contains two openings in it to enhance the cooling of important parts, highlighting the front area of the card. Here the BIOS switch and the large area Sapphire has left on its power connector backplate, which even having just one, powered directly from the two, is much better appreciated.
The aesthetics of the course continue along with the cover, highlighting a series of cards with screen printing.
The rear of it is nothing new to the models of the brand you have seen, just highlight their three DisplayPort and one HDMI (the corresponding versions are not specified) and its full bracket to improve the output.
Its back part is very free from heat exhaustion and is therefore limited to the holes produced by the entire hole.
An internal review
Entering completely into its disassembly, this begins to pass through the 7 screws that connect the cover and backup and provide stability to the building, where once we remove them we can completely see its heatsink.
The cover has the impression that its fans and anchors, this is placed in the cross bar that crosses the cover directly. This means that much of the ventilation space is wasted compared to other competing solutions based on cross-cutting and three-point separation. We also see the connector PWM with fan control function, and the Sapphire logo LED power system.
Another surprise is that this Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT 6 GB maintains that its rear bumper acts as a passive heatsink and not just as a decorator for the PCB's beauty and durability. In this respect the brand has planned two VRM zone thermalpads and a specific chip, which we will talk about soon.
Following the card issue and focusing on its heatsink, here we get a better look at how Sapphire has spread its heat pump system. Being a clip heatsink and can be split into two sections has to be split between the top and bottom means the heat pipes, where the upper one is more noticeable, the less it appears.
In addition, all three are directly connected to you are cold Copper for a good invoice, which even though it doesn't have a complete transaction fee (especially for the low price that the card usually requires) is sufficient for the death of this size.
Here are two points to discuss, on the other hand, the implementation of thermal insulation, has been a reference to this Sapphire feature and a much better application. On the other hand, we see that the dead are not directly in the center of the cold, but that they are to the top left.
This is an important fact, because although the fireplate acts as a heat exchanger for heat pipes, the death situation has a direct effect when it comes to heat distribution, that is, the computer locations will be much colder in the cold than in the central area where the die is affected.
So, the best app is Sapphire, where it's also cool VRM with direct integration to the heatsink and central region of GDDR6 and the same system, where the last one appears partially and combines with three heat pipes.
Here we have the PCB, in which Sapphire evidently used the same PCB in the Pulse RX 5700 8 GB with few changes and improvements. First and foremost being a bit boring at first glance we see how strong capacitors have evolved into new ones 10K Black Metallic, when at the same time the stages of maintenance were replaced by a new model with serial dissolution within the Choke range.
A good point that can make a difference from here on a brand. We can see how the two VRAM modules are reasonably lacking and how the other MOSFETs and resistors are not installed, so it is extremely clear that Sapphire has re-launched its PCB and developed this model.
The arrival of GDDR6 was signed by Micron with the model 9UA77 D9WCW, which translates as MT61K256M32, where its maker guarantees you three different speeds:
BIOS switches allowed the jump from 12 Gbps to 14 Gbps, so it is possible that these countries are sold as "flawless" and consequently come cheap to AIB.
This is not to say that they are inefficient, they simply could not transfer authentication at their highest speed, ie at 16 Gbps, so it is highlighted at low speeds and sold cheaply to compilers, something that happens to GPUs and CPUs within for example. In this case, the entry speed was not a problem and with the card as we shall see, it was completely stable.
The chip displayed next to the Micron GDDR6 module is SiC632 signed by Vishay Siliconix
He is not my best brother, but he has to jump on the PCB to become the next generation MOSFET capable of even working. 24V.
Therefore, it is a component to be frozen as it happens on this Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT 6 GB because of its proximity to the GDDR6.
We have drawn attention to this support for the heatsink, which is set based on the profile of the dying PCB. This is another detail for Sapphire, as we have already mentioned, the center of the frozen area is demolished to clean up the die, which has the effect that the pressure is not properly distributed when established. This is a flexible rubber swap to measure the pressure and prevents death from being damaged in its lower part, a point worth Sapphire.
Here we can see the classification scheme of the whole GPU, where it depends 5 stages for this special chip, and VRAMs will be supported 3 Phases & VRM, making the whole system transparent 5 + 3.
MOSFETs are also signed by Vishay Siliconix through its leading part SIC632A, an enhanced version of VRAM memory and shared many of the features previously seen.
In conjunction with the video results, we are looking to control VRAM power levels, the NCP81022, a digital phase controller with up to 4 controls and is experienced in the field, today's performance guarantee is really cheap to find and that complements its work properly and where protection is installed OCP, OVP, AVP and UVP.
In the back part of the backdrop we said it would just chip out, well, because that chip is IR35217 in its C822P version, that is, a digital phase output controller capable of controlling three phase access: 8 + 0/7 + 1 or 6 + 2.
Due to the importance of this chip and the temperatures you can reach, Sapphire installed it on the back of the PCB to facilitate the construction of the heatsink and thus reduce the cost and go into the use of the same rear part. We haven't seen any excess heat for this, certainly thanks to the fact that the GPU phase system is 5 + 0, so it's not pressed into its rule.
Working
The most obvious question is, what can we expect from this RX 5600 XT? To answer it initially we have the data that AMD has provided to us as a pre-review guide, where it puts your card on the stage above the competition.
To the extent that if it successfully manages to win all GTX 1660 Ti and GTX 1660 SUPER OC we will be talking about the card that should be closer to the rest of the RTX 2060 or its equivalent.
As we can see, what AMD offers with this GPU should be around a very low RTX performance, but with the new BIOS of this Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT 6 GB we should be at a higher level without a doubt, since the increase in performance is about 12% pure.
Now we have to see if, in fact, this increase is used in reality and, unfortunately, we can see how it develops against the RX 5700, since the bandwidth of VRAM and its power are unevenly distributed.
