When and where is the 2023 Rugby World Cup?
In 2019, for the first time in its history, the Rugby World Cup was held in Asia, in Japan to be precise. This 10th edition is being hosted for the second time by France, and it is the fourth in which matches are being played on French territory.
The competition began on September 8 and will end on October 28, with 20 teams participating at the start and 9 stadiums requisitioned across France for the occasion (Nice, Saint-Denis, Marseille, Villeneuve-d’Ascq, Saint-Étienne, Toulouse, Nantes, Bordeaux and Décines-Charpieu).
Unfortunately for Fabien Galthié’s men, after a flawless group stage and having dominated a good part of their quarter-final, they lost to the Springboks, reigning world champions, with a very close score (29-28). The adventure therefore ends for our Blues, with a slightly bitter taste…
