Samsung is finalizing the annual launch of its Galaxy A-series family of phones, and as has happened on other occasions, these families are focusing on the A5x and A7x members for this year 2022.
Indeed, many leaks have already appeared regarding the A73, the largest of Samsung’s A family, which should also accompany the model. Galaxy A53 which we cover in this article.
When will the Samsung Galaxy A73 be launched?
Samsung has started sending out invitations for the launch of the new Galaxy A scheduled for March 17 at 3:00 p.m. CET (the same date as its predecessors last year). you can follow the diffusion through the channel Youtube from Samsung.
The release date coincides with the launch of the 2021 Galaxy A72 family, suggesting that the A73 could go on sale the same day as its predecessor, March 19, a special date we celebrate in some countries. Father’s day.
Here are the dates when the previous models were released:
- Samsung Galaxy A72 – March 2021
- Samsung Galaxy A71 5G UV – July 2020
- Samsung Galaxy A71 5G – April 2020
- Samsung Galaxy A71 – January 2020
- Samsung Galaxy A70s – September 2019
- Samsung Galaxy A70 – March 2019
As you can see, the standard models are released in the first quarter of each year, but there are model variants with additional features that appear a few months later.
This is what is happening with the Galaxy A72 generation, which Samsung has simplified into a single model, so we expect the same for the A73 of 2022. In fact, the A72 has not reached certain markets like the American one, and we still don’t have details if the same will happen.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy A73 cost?
So far, there has been no official news from Samsung regarding the Galaxy A73, which means we don’t have a confirmed price. Instead, we look once again at its predecessors that came before it:
- Samsung Galaxy A72 – $449 / (approx.) $555 / MXN 11,581.35
- Samsung Galaxy A71 – $449 / (approx.) $555 / MXN 11,581.35
- Samsung Galaxy A70 – $449 / (approx.) $555 / MXN 11,581.35
Given that prices have remained stable over the past few years, we expect Samsung to continue this trend. However, the global shortage of chips, the cost of manufacturing and the inclusion of 5G could slightly increase its final price.
What features will the Samsung Galaxy A73 have?
As for pricing, we still don’t have any confirmed details from Samsung on the A73’s specs. What we have are major leaks, starting with renowned whistleblower @OnLeaks, who works with @Zoutons.
Both feature 3D renders of the device, along with various specs that could mark Galaxy A73 configurations.
More recently, whistleblower @Shadow_Leak stepped in with their own expected specs, some validated by OnLeaks, while others contradict.

For the most part, the design remains consistent with last year’s Galaxy A72. The display will be a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a punch-hole front camera.
If Samsung continues with the same approach as in the A72, the A73 will have a screen with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2400) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz; however, Shadow_Leak suggests the phone will switch to 120Hz.
Various sources also claim that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chip will be the processor of choice for the A73, which matches the chip currently used by the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. This will be accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
A contradictory but notable source is Geekbenchwhere results for a Samsung phone with model number SM-A736B from March 7 suggest the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 778G instead of a 750G.
A quick look at the renders reveals the same quad camera plug-in as its predecessor, but the Zoutons article (and later Shadow_Leak) reports that the primary sensor will offer 108MP, rather than the 64MP unit of the A72.
In terms of size, we expect the Galaxy A73 to measure 163.8 x 76 x 7.6mm, with the camera thickening things up to 9.3mm.
Bluetooth SIG certification also emerged in early March, confirming that both single and dual SIM variants of the phone will take advantage of Bluetooth 5.0 technology.
5,000mAh batteries would also be included, combined with 25W fast charging and 5G connectivity as standard. With more and more leaks constantly emerging, the Samsung Galaxy A73 stands out as one of the best phones of this 2022 in its mid-range.
