Samsung has revealed its new flagship tablet range – without the standard model – but there’s one key feature that caught my eye.
Naturally, the focus has been on Galaxy AI and what Samsung’s artificial intelligence can do on the Galaxy Tab S10 series.
But this is another even more impressive software feature. For the first time, Samsung is bringing seven years of major OS and security updates to the Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra.
This means that both tablets should have Android 21 potential and be safe to use until 2031. This is a major upgrade over the Galaxy Tab S9 series, which offers four updates. major operating system upgrades and five years of security patches.

In fact, it’s better than any tablet you can buy right now. Even the iPad, known for its long software support, is usually discontinued by Apple around 5-6 years after its launch. If you use your tablet after this date, bugs will not be fixed and it will be vulnerable to malware and other viruses.
Naturally, many people have questioned the need for such long software support on a phone, which many people upgrade every two years. But on a tablet it makes a lot more sense.
Plus, the premium hardware on these tablets makes them something you’ll be happy to use for years to come. Both devices use the impressively capable MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which powers high-quality 120Hz AMOLED displays (12.4-inch on Tab S10+, 14.6-inch on Tab S10 Ultra).
Elsewhere, you also get big batteries (10,090 mAh on S10+, 11,200 mAh on S10 Ultra), four stereo speakers, three compatible cameras and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Add to that the range of compatible accessories, including the S Pen and dedicated keyboard accessories, and the appeal of the Tab S10 series is there for all to see.
However, the Galaxy Tab S10 series is not cheap. The Tab S10+ starts at £999, while you’ll pay at least £1,099 for the Tab S10 Ultra. That’s before adding any of these optional accessories. Both will be available from October 3.
