Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen how details and rumors about the new smart phones from Sony. One of them is the model that may well be among the favorites of many: the Sony Xperia 10 IV.
Here’s everything we know so far about one of the Japanese giant’s most affordable mid-range models, including speculation that it may never arrive.
Launch: When will the Sony Xperia 10 IV go on sale?
Sony has confirmed that it will hold the presentation event for its next flagship, the Xperia 1 IV, on May 11. At the moment, yes, it has not been revealed if it will also serve to present the Xperia 10 IV, among others.
Still, it seems likely, especially since Xperia 10 models are usually released in early summer. We take a look at when this happened in the first three generations:
Has the Sony Xperia 10 IV been cancelled?
We get a somewhat disturbing rumor from tipster Weibo Caybule. This is usually a fairly reliable source and claims that one of the Xperia 2022 models has been cancelled, although it does not specify which one.
With Sony’s launch announcement, we know the next Xperia 1 is already on the way. This makes candidates for cancellation the Xperia 10 IV, the Xperia 5 IV and the successor to the Xperia Pro-I.
Price: How much will the Sony Xperia 10 IV cost?
As there has been no official announcement regarding the phone yet, we don’t have its price as of now. This is why we will refer to the previous models for some clues:

Design and specifications: what new features will the Xperia 10 IV bring?
Rumors circulate constantly. the always reliable OnLeaks maintains its current streak with a collection of rendered images of the Xperia 10 IV that ties together the various elements announced in the leaks and inside information.
OnLeaks worked in collaboration with the technology site Let’s gowhere more details were given on the possible composition of the Xperia 10 IV.
The screen would be a 6-inch flat OLED (supposedly in the 21:9 aspect ratio that this series typically features), with two speakers mounted at either end of the screen. There will be no holes or notches in the screen, and instead A fingerprint sensor will be installed on the power button on the right side.
Following the trend of 2022, Sony would also adopt a square-edged design for the chassis, whose dimensions would be 153.3 x 67.3 x 8.4mm. There’s also a standard USB-C charging port to power the 4,000mAh battery and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for the internals, the leak claims that a chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 690, although this is debatable as this was the same platform used in the Xperia 10 III, so the Snapdragon 695 seems more likely.
However, the shortage of chips around the world has caused some manufacturers to stick with the same generation of chips when updating their models, mainly for reasons of availability and to avoid increasing production costs.
It’s believed to be joined by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is possible that the latter can be expanded with microSD cards, as in the Xperia 10 III.
There is no confirmation on the cameras that will be offered, since the leak is limited to saying that it will be a set of three cameras. It will most likely be similar to the Xperia 1 III, which has a 12 MP wide angle (f/1.8), 8 MP telephoto (f/2.4) and 8 MP ultra wide angle (f/2.2).
